CONTROL
OPERATION OF THE MAIN MODULE
COMPRESSOR ROTATION
The processor also features other functions for the overall management of the unit. One example of this is compressor
rotation. The compressor rotation function is enabled by setting the corresponding parameters. This means than when
compressor operation is requested by the thermoregulator, the compressor that will start first is the one with the lowest
number of operating hours, while the one that will stop first is the compressor with the highest number of hours. This
function allows the number of operating hours to be divided evenly between both compressors. In any case, the first
compressor can always be started first and the second compressor second, in the case of specific needs; the unit is
delivered by the manufacturer with rotation enabled.
COMPRESSOR TIMERS
To maximise the quality of compressor operation, a number timers are required. Refer to the graph in Fig. 3-4 to better
understand the meaning of the timers.
ON-ON safety time C02
The graph in Fig. 4 shows two parameters. OFF-ON SAFETY TIME and ON-ON SAFETY TIME. The first parameter
means that when a compressor stops a certain time must elapse before it can start again. This time is respected even
when there is a request from the thermoregulator. The second parameter means that a certain time must elapse between
two successive starts. In the case of units with two compressors, a further two parameters are used, that is, FIRST-
SECOND COMPRESSOR ON INTERVAL and FIRST-SECOND COMPRESSOR OFF INTERVAL. The first parameter
avoids simultaneous starts of the two compressors, mainly to avoid excessive current peaks. The second represents an
interval between the shut-down of the first and the second compressor. The function of these two parameters are shown
in the graph in Figure 3.
