RECEPTION INSPECTION UPON RECEIPT The units are shipped in special protective packaging. When it arrives, check the unit has not been damaged during transport and that it has been supplied complete with all the parts specified in the order. If there is any visible damage make a note of it on the transport document, accompanied by the words: “ACCEPTED WITH RESERVATIONS DUE TO OBVIOUS DAMAGE TO PACKING” since delivery free to factory includes cover for damage to be borne by the insurers, in compliance with Italian law no. 450 dated 22/08/85 “limite di risarcibilità”. IMPORTANT EVERY OPERATION DESCRIBED BELOW MUST BE CARRIED OUT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE SAFETY REGULATIONS IN FORCE CONCERNING BOTH THE EQUIPMENT USED AND THE OPERATING PROCEDURES ADOPTED. WARNING ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE LIFTING CAPACITY OF THE EQUIPMENT USED IS SUITABLE FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE UNIT IN QUESTION BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY HANDLING OPERATIONS. Size 102 122 142 162 182 202 242 Weight Kg 275 280 380 480 485 580 590 HANDLING HANDLING using a FORKLIFT or SIMILAR - Insert the forks in the long side of the wooden pallet supplied with the unit. - Start lifting the unit, making sure that it is balanced and stable. Keep in mind that the heaviest part is the part where the compressor is installed. 36
HOISTING using a CRANE or SIMILAR - Position the lifting pipes in the holes on the base of the unit. - Make sure the ends of the pipes protrude enough to allow the safety pins and split pins to be fitted. - Position the hoisting straps on the pipes, between the split pins and the base of the unit (see the drawing). - Place rigid structures on the top edges of the unit to protect it (if one only lifting point is used). - Gradually tension the lifting straps, checking that they remain in position. - Start lifting. THIS ADVICE IS AS FOLLOWS: - HANDLE WITH CARE - KEEP DRY - UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES EVER PLACE OTHER OBJECTS ON TOP OF THE UNIT UNLESS WITHIN THE STACKING LIMIT SHOWN (THE NUMBER SPECIFIES THE NUMBER OF STACKING LAYERS. E.G. 1 = 1 STACKING LAYER PERMITTED ON THE UNIT). STORAGE − Store away from: direct sunlight, rain, sand and wind − Temperature: maximum 60°C minimum -10°C − Maximum humidity: 90% REMOVING THE PACKAGING - Cut the fastening straps with scissors. - Lift the carton (if present). - Remove the brackets that fasten the unit to the pallet, using a 10mm spanner. - Lift the unit so that is detached from the pallet. - Rest the unit on the ground in the chosen position. - Check for any visible damage. - Dispose of the packaging so that it is taken to specialist collection or recycling centres (observe the standards in force). 37
