9. How to operate the portable audio player Use an optional AUX cable to connect a portable audio player to the main unit. 9.1. Switching the AUX mode on and off 1. Press the [SOURCE/PWR] button for more than one second to turn the audio mode OFF. “Audio off” is displayed on the TomTom display. On the sub display “GOOD BYE” will be momentarily displayed and then “ALL OFF”. 2. Press the [TP/TEXT] button and [FUNC/AF] button simultaneously for longer than 3 seconds. AUX ON ↔ AUX OFF Attention: • When AUX is set to ON (“AUX ON”), the AUX mode is established by pressing the [SOURCE/ PWR] button. When AUX is set to OFF (“AUX OFF”), the AUX mode is not established by pressing the [SOURCE/PWR] button. • The [SOURCE/PWR] button must be off prior to using this feature. (Press [SOURCE/ PWR] button for more than one second - “GOOD BYE” will momentarily be displayed.) 9.2. When using AUX 1. Turn on the power to the connected portable audio player. 2. Press the [SOURCE/PWR] button to switch to the AUX mode. The sound from the connected portable audio player will be output. Attention: • While the AUX mode is activated, actions such as turning off the audio player or pulling out the connection cable may cause noise spikes that can damage the system speakers. Be sure to avoid this possibility by turning off the system power or switching from AUX mode to another mode before shutting off or disconnecting the portable audio player. • Audio output levels will differ among the various devices that can be connected by this method. Carefully adjust the volume until the output level of the connected player is known. • Before using a portable audio player in a vehicle, read the player’s operation manual carefully and confirm problem-free operation in the vehicle before proceeding. • When you connect an optional AUX cable to the main unit, it is not possible to connect any other optional equipment. If one of these messages appears If any of the following messages is displayed on the sub display, check the equipment while referring to the cause and corrective action columns. INFO 3 INFO 5 INFO 6 INFO 7 NO SUPPORT PROTECT DISCS ARE DIRTY OR DAMAGED CD PLAYER FAILS MECHANICALLY WHEN THE CD PLAYER’S INTERNAL TEMPERATURE IS HIGH (TO PROTECT PICKUP UNIT) AN INTERNAL POWER SUPPLY FAILURE HAS OCCURRED CD/MP3 WITH UNSUPPORTED FORMAT ALL THE FILES IN CD ARE LICENSE PROTECTED The loaded disc is dirty or upside down. Check if the orientation is correct and if it is clean. The CD player is inoperative for some reason. • The temperature in the CD player is too high for operation. Wait till it cools down. • Resume playing after the “High temperature sensed and CD stopped” display disappears. If the CD still cannot play, have your dealer repair it. • Turn the ACC off and back on to resume the operation. • If this condition persists, please contact your dealer. Check the file.
