8. How to operate with an iPod ®<br />

An iPod can be connected to the main unit using an optional dedicated connection cable, allowing<br />

you to listen to iPod music files and operate some iPod functions from the main unit.<br />

An iPod is for legal or right-holder-authorized copying only. It is a crime to steal music. iPod is a<br />

trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.<br />

8.1. Listening to iPod music files<br />

1. Connect the iPod to the iPod cable.<br />

2. Press the [SOURCE/PWR] button to switch to the iPod mode.<br />

The main unit will automatically start playing the music file in the iPod.<br />

Attention: Once the iPod is connected, it will begin playing from the first file. Turning the<br />

power ON/OFF or detaching and reinserting the TomTom will also start playing from the first<br />

file.<br />

Caution:<br />

• Disconnect headphones and all other accessories from the iPod before connecting it to the<br />

main unit. Failure to do so may make it impossible to operate the iPod from the main unit.<br />

• If the iPod’s equalizer has been customized, sound output may be distorted when it is<br />

connected to the optional dedicated connection cable.<br />

8.2. Going to the next file/returning to the<br />

beginning of a file<br />

Press the [SELECT(Right/Left)] button.<br />

Right: Advances to the next file.<br />

Left (pressing once): Returns to the beginning of the file being played.<br />

Left (pressing more than two times): Returns to the previous file.<br />
