WASHI NOTON, 13 mars (AFP) - Oh53 - Les Etats-Unis ont très modérément critiqué, pour le "principe", l'interdiction jeudi du principal parti<br />
kur<strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong> Turquie, le Ha<strong>de</strong>p, par la Cour constitutionnelle turque. .<br />
"Par principe, les Etats-Unis considèrent que la ferm<strong>et</strong>ure d'un parti loyal envers les principes <strong>et</strong> les pratiques démocratiques est contraire aux<br />
normes internationales en matière <strong>de</strong> démocratie", a déclaré une porte-parole du département d'Etat, Brenda Greenberg, sans mentionner<br />
directement ce parti. '<br />
"Nous ne sommes pas en mesure <strong>de</strong> faire une évaluation <strong>de</strong>s motivations légales <strong>de</strong> c<strong>et</strong>te affaire", a-t-elle affirmé, en ajoutant que Washington<br />
"ne soutient ni ne s'oppose à aucun parti turc" <strong>et</strong> "n'intervient pas dans les processus intérieurs, politiques ou judiciaires", <strong>de</strong> ce pays.<br />
" L'interdiction par la Cour constitutionnelle, au terme d'une longue procédure judiciaire, du Parti <strong>de</strong> la Démocratie du peuple (Ha<strong>de</strong>p)<br />
intervient à un moment où les tensions s'accroissent dans le sud-est anatolien en raison <strong>de</strong>s rumeurs <strong>de</strong> guerre contre l'Irak voisin.<br />
Elle risque par ailleurs d'être mal accueillie par les autorités européennes qui reprochent à Ankara <strong>de</strong>s manquements à la démocratie alors que<br />
le pays est candidat à l'Union européenne (UE).<br />
Les Etats-Unis tentent actuellement d'obtenir <strong>de</strong> la Turquie l'autorisation <strong>de</strong> déployer quelque 60.000 hommes pour ouvrir un front nord<br />
contre l'Irak dans la perspective d'un conflit avec Bagdad .<br />
. Le parlement a rej<strong>et</strong>é une première motion sur ce suj<strong>et</strong>, le 1er mars <strong>de</strong>rnier, mais pourrait être amené à revoir sa position. Washington est prêt<br />
à apporter une ai<strong>de</strong> économique spéciale <strong>de</strong> 6 milliards <strong>de</strong> dollars à Ankara si ce déploiement est accepté.<br />

February, a Kurdistan Regional Government spokesman announced, reported Kerkuk-kurdistan.com.<br />
The terrorist group were members of the Turkmen Front, led by Abdulamir Izz<strong>et</strong>. The Turkmen Front does not<br />
have a party license in South Kurdistan and refuses to recognize the Kurdistan Regional Government.<br />
The terrorist group were armed with variedweapons. The Turkmen group refuses to hand over its military arsenal<br />
to the Kurdistan Regional Government. . .<br />
Observes believe that Turkey supportsopportunist people in South Kurdistan to keep its influence iri the region.<br />
Turkish expansionist attitu<strong>de</strong> un<strong>de</strong>rmines the stability of the region. The Turkish aim is to inflate the existence of<br />
the Turkmens in the region and look for a scenario similar to that of Cyprus, forg<strong>et</strong>ting that after nearly three<br />
<strong>de</strong>ca<strong>de</strong>s of occupation, Turkey is loosing Cyprus and the Turkish community in Northern Cyprus passionately<br />
<strong>de</strong>sire a unification with the south to enter the european Union.<br />

Iraqi Turkmen lea<strong>de</strong>r warns Kurds<br />
Arbil, Iraq - An <strong>et</strong>hnic Turkmen lea<strong>de</strong>r in northern Iraq has warned the main Kurdish faction here that its drive<br />
towards fe<strong>de</strong>ralism could ignite a civil war, and threatened to call in Turkish military support if the Kurds seek<br />
to grab key cities in the event of a US-led invasion.<br />
The presi<strong>de</strong>nt of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Sanan Ahm<strong>et</strong> Aga, alsoaccused the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP)<br />
of conducting a campaign of political intimidation against his minority, saying Ankara must be quick to protect<br />
follow Turks when war breaks out. "If there is any attack on Iraq, it is natural for Turkish soldiers to be here," he<br />
said, before adding: "The Kurds should be very careful not to provoke US in a way that leads US to call in the help<br />
of other countries."<br />
Ethnic Turkmen groups here have often been accused by the KDP of being a fifth column for their powerful northern<br />
neighbour.<br />
