We [KDP and PUl< leaders] signed a historical agreement on 8 September. We sent a strong message to the Kurdish people
that we are serious in achieving peace and remove all the obstacles in its way. Our visit today is to give more power to this
message. Another message to send to Kurdistan people and their friends is that we are very serious in taking measures to
serVe our people. Themeetin~ of-parliament;which-is-due-to-be held-inthe coming-days, is-a furtherstep-[towards reunification].
We want to reassure the Kurdish people that the two sides are seriously working; they have taken steps and will
take other steps to remove all the obstacles and to take the best advantage for the Kurdish people of the existing opportunity,
and to gain great achievements for our people.
I join my voice to that of my brother Mam Jalal and thank the Higher Committee for Peace, which produced this outcome.
We also thank the committees, which were set up after the 8 September agreement, and which carried out their tasks properly,
and we are very pleased with the very positive results they produced. We ensure our people that in future, with the
wish of God, we will continue to serve them. Thank you.
