administrators for being leaders of an illegal armed organization's political wing and ~
demanded prison sentences of at least 22 years and six months for each defendant.

MED TV fails to open an office

MED TV failed to open a studio in Sittard, the Netherlands, a city which is close to Belgium
and Germany.
Local officials from Sittard said that the film production company Ra}, which is registered in
Denderleeuw, Belgium, had appealed to them to rent a large space in an old factory building,
the Anatolia news agency reported.
After being informed that Ra} was working for MED TV, Sittard officials refused to allow them
to rent the space.
MED TV is a television station which propagates the ideology of the outlawed Kurdistan
Workers' Party (PKK), and has studios in London and offices in Belgium.
Turkey has informed these two countries on a number of occasions that MED TV is a pro-PKK
institution.

s'accordent sur la lutte anti-islamiste
ANKARA.Après de vives tensions, la puissante armée turque et le
gouvernement se sont mis d'accord, vendredi 27 mars à Ankara, lors
d'une réunion du Conseil national de Sécurité, sur un programme de
lutte contre le fondamentalisme musulman, priorité des militaires,
mais qui respecte les règles de la démocratie comme le souhaitaient
les politiques. «Dans la lutte contre res mouvements religieux réactionnaires
qui visent à abattre le régime laie, les lois existantes doivent etre
appliquées sans concession et de nouvelles lois doivent être rapidement
adoptées par le Parlement », a déclaré, dans un communiqué, le
Conseil national de sécurité qui réunit chaque mois le chef de l'Etat, le
premier ministre, les ministres de la défense, de l'intérieur et des affaires
étrangères ainsi que les cinq plus hauts commandants des armées.

lorsque le premier ministre Mesut Yilmazavait appelé les militaires à
