New information:
Recent reports received from the CDF state that Riad Turk, Abdallah Qabara and Naif AI-Hamoui
continue to be detained, the second being detained in the Palmyra prison and the latter in the Sedanya
prison.
The same reports indicate that Riad Turk is still subjected to ill-treatment.
Obsen'ations :
The International Secretariat requests you to continue urging the Syrian authorities to :
i. guaramee the respect of the physical and psychological integrity of Riad Turk, Abdallah
Qabara and Naif AI-Hamoui;
ii. order the immediate release of these persons as well as any other persons detained or
condemned without valid judicial cause or by reason of declarations obtained under illegal
pressure;
iii. ensure the effective respect of human rights and fundamental liberties in accordance with
international standards and nationallegislation.

The International Secretariat of OMCT has recieved new Îlûonnation in the following situation in Syria.
Brief reminder of the situation:
The International Secretariat was infonned of the alleged detention in Syria of ten human rights defenders. The people
detained were reported to be members of the Committee for the Defence of Democratic Freedoms and Human Rights
in Syria (CDF), which is a member of the network. These persons were Aktbam Nouaisseb, Nizar Nayouf, Afif
Mizber, Mubammed Ali Habib, Bassam al-Sbaykb, Thabet Murad, Jadi' Nlm1al, Ya'qub Musa, Hassan Ali and
Russam Salama.
The International Secretariat had also been infonned that they were sentenced to prison for periods ranging between 5
years and 10 years.
