SOLVAY BRUSSELS SCHOOL OF
ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT
SCIENCES ÉCONOMIQUES ET DE GESTION
MASTER
INGÉNIEUR
DE GESTION
CURSUS EN ANGLAIS
= Master in Business and Technology
LES COMPÉTENCES
VISÉES
The French and Dutch-speaking Universities of Brussels decided
to offer an international/European-oriented variant of their
French and Dutch programmes « Ingénieur de Gestion »/
« Handelsingenieur ».
Economics as its foundation, technology as added value and
entrepreneurship as a guideline. This, in short, is the philosophy
behind the Belgian academic qualification of « Business
Engineer » (sometimes also translated as « Management Engineer
» or « Commercial Engineer »).
The idea has always been to deliver professionals who are able
to understand the jargon and business environment of all of
their colleagues, whether they are engineers, economists,
lawyers, computer scientists or those with other specializations.
Our business engineers can be the bridges between the
worlds of different members of the workforce.
During the « bachelor » phase of our degree, students develop a
solid foundation in economics and are immersed in business
fields such as marketing, finance, management and human resource
management. This is followed by a thorough grounding
in mathematics, statistics and computer science, whilst a strong
basis in science is provided by physics, chemistry, electronics
and technology courses. Another peculiarity of the business engineer’s
education is a strong focus on language skills.
LE CURSUS
As all parts of this course are taught in English and students
must write their thesis in English, proficiency in the English
language is naturally an important prerequisite.
Minimum university Bachelor degree in Business or Economics
and Curriculum that contains the following subjects: Economics,
Business, Quantitative Methods, Languages, Natural Sciences,
Humanities and Law.
LES SPÉCIFICITÉS
Through this co-organized English programme, international undergraduate
students with the right profile have the opportunity
to benefit from the expertise of the Solvay Brussels School of
Economics and Management without having to speak French or
Dutch. Students thus have the unique possibility of experiencing
high-level European and internationally- oriented management
studies whilst living and studying in the capital of Europe.
Our professors and lecturers come from around the world,
mostly from the academic world and usually from the most
prestigious universities and business schools.
In addition to our eminent academics, we are proud to welcome
as members of our teaching faculty numerous business professionals
and practitioners from every sector of business and the
economy, including industry and services and the private and
public sectors in Belgium and Europe. Their knowledge and experience
cover every field of management and business (strategy,
finance, marketing, leadership, technology, IT etc.)
LES ATOUTS
