INVITÉS INTERNATIONAUX AU LADIES MORNING MUSICAL CLUB
Le Ladies Morning Musical Club présente le Trio Pennetier-Pasquier-Pidoux
en concert à la salle Pollack le 15 novembre, dans un programme de Mozart,
Michel Merlet et Beethoven. Solistes français de premier plan, les musiciens
ont formé leur trio alors qu’ils étaient étudiants au prestigieux
Conservatoire de Paris, où ils enseignent maintenant.
Le 6 décembre, le violoncelliste allemand Alban Gerhardt interprétera
des œuvres de Beethoven, Janáček et Prokofiev avec la pianiste Cecile Licad.
Reconnu comme l’un des grands violoncellistes de sa génération, Gerhardt

MUSIC FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
The Maison des Jeunesses Musicales offers the latest in its child-friendly
concert series, La musique c’est de famille!, with a performance of
Skarazula on November 22. This show mixes the musical styles and instruments
of Europe, the Middle East and Asia, providing children with the
chance to listen to the doumbek, the oud, Irish flutes, marine trumpets and
singing in a range of languages. Children aged 3-5 can attend a shorter version
of the concert at 11am, with a longer version for 6-12 year-olds at 1pm.

November is a busy month for opera lovers. Besides Montreal Opera’s Magic

OPERA MCGILL: HANDEL’S AGRIPPINA.
Opera McGill’s annual fall baroque opera features Handel’s Agrippina,
named after Nero’s mother, as she plots the downfall of the Roman
Emperor Claudius and the installation of her son as emperor. Patrick

LANG LANG JOUE PROKOFIEV
En novembre, on pourra entendre Lang Lang, ce pianiste extraordinaire
âgé de 27 ans qui fait fureur partout où il va. Il interprétera le
lyrique et spirituel Troisième concerto pour piano de Prokofiev avec
l’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal les 17 et 18 novembre sous la
direction d’Andrew Litton. Il terminera sa visite à Montréal le 22
novembre avec un récital solo de quelques œuvres majeures pour piano

LE GALA: OPÉRA DE MONTRÉAL AND OPÉRA DE QUÉBEC
The Christmas time Gala has now become a tradition in both Montreal and
Quebec City. The Opéra de Québec holds their Gala on November 26 with 12
of Quebec’s top singers including Gaétan Laperrière, Lyne Fortin, Marc
Hervieux and Yannick-Muriel Noah straight from her triumphant Butterfly

The Opéra de Montréal holds its Gala on Sunday, December 6. The usual 4-
