BILAN ET PERSPECTIVES 213 5.5 Bilan et perspectives La réponse de Segonzacia mesatlantica aux conditions testées indique que les adaptations pour le transport par l’Hc ont lieu principalement au niveau de la composition de l’hémolymphe et que la plasticité phénotypique n’est pas mise en jeu. Cependant, il existe une grande variabilité des profils de composition en sous-unités, à l’image de ce qui est observé chez Carcinus maenas. Il semble exister un découplage fonctionnel entre la réponse aux variations du milieu et l’effet des modulateurs organiques sur les propriétés du pigment. Cette caractéristique est différente de ce qui est observé en milieu intertidal et pourrait permettre d’éviter une trop forte affinité du pigment en conditions d’hypoxie environnementale, qui empêcherait un relargage correct aux tissus. Le principal effecteur hémolymphatique serait donc plutôt le pH grâce au fort effet Bohr caractéristique des espèces hydrothermales. Afin d’obtenir une vue globale et intégrée des réponses respiratoires de S. mesatlantica, il serait intéressant de pouvoir disposer de l’ensemble des variables respiratoires dans les différents conditions : consommation d’oxygène, fréquences et débits ventilatoires et cardiaques, pH artériel et veineux. Il est également à noter que, même en reproduisant la pression du fond, les conditions imposées différent toujours des conditions réelles et représentent la meilleure approximation possible à cet instant de ces conditions. Le développement d’appareils à mettre en oeuvre au fond serait un outil appréciable (cage de respirométrie par exemple). Chez certaines espèces possédant des cuticules transparentes, il est possible de visualiser les battements des scaphognathites sur les vidéos prises au fond et de les corréler avec l’emplacement des individus au moment de la prise de vue (près d’une zone de diffusion ou plus éloigné) (crevettes Alvinocaris sp., Decelle (2007)).
