Unparasitierte Bienen begannen im Alter von 13 Tagen mit den ersten
Ausflügen, die Verluste betrugen hierbei 20 %. Die parasitierten Bienen flogen
schon im Alter von 7 Tagen aus, die Verluste lagen hier bei 36 °!o. Die durchschnittliche
Ausflugdauer/Biene/Tag, die Anzahl der Flüge/Biene/Tag und die
Gesamtflugdauer/Biene/Tag, aufgeteilt nach Altersstufen und Parasitierungsgrad,
sind in der nachfolgenden Tabelle dargestellt.
Die Lebensdauer parasitierter Bienen ist verkürzt. Deshalb verringert sich
ihre Flug- und Saminelleistung gegenüber unparasitierten erheblich.
SUMMARY
The influence of Varroa infestation during pupal development
on the flight activity of the worker honey bees
To investigate the influence of the Varroa-infestation newly emerged worker
bees with determined infestation rate of mites during pupal development were
marked individually and released into an isolated colony without liarroa-mites.
Their flight activity was controlled every day from 10 to 18 h.
Bees without any mites during the pupal stage started their first flights at
the age of 12 days; 20 % of them got lost. Parasitized worker bees began to
fly at the age of 7 days, 36 % were lost. The average duration of the flight/bee/
day, the number of flights/bee/day and the total flight duration/bee/day divided
by age groups and infestation groups is shown in table 1.
The longevity of parasitised bees is shortened. Therefore the flight activity,
and with it collection activity, is considerably reduced.

Influence de l’infestation par Varroa au cours du développement
nymphal sur l’activité des ouvrières
Pour étudier l’influence de l’infestation par Vnrroa d’ouvrières d’abeilles
fraîchement écloses, avec un taux d’infestation connu.
Pour étudier l’influence de l’infestation par Varroa, on a marqué individuellement
des ouvrières d’abeilles fraîchement écloses, dont on connaissait le taux
d’infestation, et on les a introduites dans une colonie isolée dépourvue de Varroa.
Leur activité de vol a été notée tous les jours de 10 h à 18 h.
