COMPTE RENDU DE CAMPAGNE A LA MER SUR UN NAVIRE Ifremer H OP E 99 URM 7 Nom : POND Prénom : David Institution : SOC, Southampton, UK Campagne : HOPE 99 Navire : L'ATALANTE - Submersible: NAUTILE Organisme maître d'oeuvre : URM 7 Chef de mission : F. LALLIER Seconde partie: du 27 avril au 22 mai 1999 Participants associés : Rappel des Objectifs 1. Biochemical and compound specific stable isotope analyses of surface layer microplankton to study coupling between the photic zone and the deep-sea hydrothermal vents. 2. Compound specific stable isotope analyses (fatty acid, amino acids and carbohydrates) to study the trophic structure of the hydrothermal vent ecosystem located at 9 and 13 North on the East Pacific Rise. 3. Life history strategy of hydrothermal vent organisms including reproductive elements. Travaux réalisés The collection of a wide range of material from the hydrothermal vent sites and the phototrophic zone. Exploitation à terre All samples now await analysis in the UK and no details regarding the results are currently available. It is intended that collaborations developed during the cruise will continue over the summer during the analysis of samples and interpretation of data. 1. Francoise Gaill and Florence Pradillon - reproductive studies of Riftia,Paravinella, Alvinella and Galitheids. 2. Aline Fiala - nutritional studies of hydrothermal vent bivalves. Commentaires A successful cruise! HOPE 99 Page 244 RAPPORTS SCIENTIFIQUES
