Désireux de prendre part aux enjeux du réchauffement climatique et de l’épuisement des ressources, le groupe GL events a mis en place une « Mission développement durable » début 2009 et mis au point un programme ambitieux, baptisé Think Green, visant à réduire l’impact de son activité sur l’environnement. Ce programme se traduit par une quinzaine d’engagements et se décline dans l’ensemble des métiers de l’entreprise de l’amont à l’aval du cycle de vie d’un événement. How do you reconcile the fleeting aspect of an event and the need to sustainably manage natural resources? Determined to do our part to fight global warming and the depletion of our natural resources, the GL events group set up an ambitious “Mission for Sustainable Development” in 2009. Called “Think Green”, this program aims to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment and is reflected in 15 environmental commitments applied by every one of the group’s departments, both upstream and downstream of an event. En sélectionnant votre mobilier, adoptez les bons réflexes : • Privilégiez les stocks de votre agence GL events la plus proche afin de limiter les transports • Sélectionnez de préférence du mobilier en matériau recyclé ou recyclable, en favorisant les produits mono-matière ou facilement démontables, ce qui permet de faciliter le recyclage : ex. chaise Slick-Slick en page 8, etc. • Privilégiez le mobilier léger, empilable, afin de limiter les volumes de transports : la majorité de nos produits avec le picto empilable • Optez pour les produits « second life », qui ont trouvé une seconde vie en étant retapissés : ex. chauffeuse Escapade en page 19, Chaise Bellisima en page 11, Canapé Shantung en page 20, etc. Nos conseillers se tiennent à votre disposition pour vous aider à diminuer l’impact de votre mobilier, en fonction de vos priorités environnementales. Our commitments: • Train the entire purchasing division. Gradually integrate sustainable development criteria in the referencing process of our suppliers and in the product sourcing. • Develop alternative offers thanks to our ambitious R&D policy. LOGISTIQUE ET TRANSPORT Afin de réduire nos émissions de CO 2 , nous avons engagé des programmes d’actions très concrets sur nos plateformes logistiques. Nos engagements : • Former nos chauffeurs à l’éco-conduite. • Le repositionnement des stocks mobilier à proximité des lieux d’exposition a déjà permis en douze mois d’économiser 100 000 km. • De nombreux accords avec des transporteurs permettent par ailleurs de limiter fortement les kilomètres à vide Objectif : -160 000 km sur 2010 ! LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORTATION In order to reduce our CO 2 emissions, we have developed concrete programs for our logistics hubs. Our commitments: • Train our drivers to eco-driving. • Relocating our furniture stocks next to the exhibition locations has already allowed us to save 100,000 km in a year. With a network of 12 agencies in France, GL events is all about proximity. • We have many agreements with carriers to limit the number of miles travelled by empty trucks. Our goal: -160 000 km in 2010! RÉUTILISATION ET GESTION DES DÉCHETS Nos engagements : • Limiter la production de déchets ultimes par un recours plus systématique aux produits réutilisables et aux matériaux recyclés ou recyclables. • Renforcer le tri sélectif sur nos sites d’exploitations. • Développer la durée de vie de nos produits, sans en réduire la qualité via nos ateliers d’entretien et de tapisserie. • Sensibiliser l’ensemble des collaborateurs aux éco-gestes. WASTE RE-USE AND MANAGEMENT Our commitments: • Limit the final waste produced by resorting systematically to re-usable products and recycled or recyclable materials. • Reinforce the recycling sorting on our sites. • Lengthen the average life of our products, without reducing their level of quality via our maintenance and covering workshops. • Increase the awareness of all our employees concerning their eco-behaviour.
