350 United Nations - Treaty Series 1967
No. 3560. AGREEMENT ON TRADE AND PAYMENTS BETWEEN THE
GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN
AND NORTHERN IRELAND AND THE GOVENRMENT OF THE REPU-
BLIC OF PARAGUAY. SIGNED AT ASUNCION, ON 21 NOVEMBER
1955 1
EXCHANGE OF NOTES CONSTITUTING AN AGREEMENT 2 FURTHER PROLONGING THE
ABOVE-MENTIONED AGREEMENT. ASUNCI6N, 23 NOVEMBER 1966
Official texts: English and Spanish.
Registered by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on 21
September 1967.
(Note No. 50)
Her Majesty's Ambassador at Asunci6n to the Paraguayan Minister
for Foreign Affairs
Your Excellency,
BRITISH EMBASSY
Asunci6n, 23 November, 1966
Under the terms of the Agreement between the Government of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Paraguay
on Trade and Payments, signed on the 21st of November, 1955, 1 and amended by
the exchange of Notes between Your Excellency and my predecessor dated the
27th of November, 1961, 3 the Agreement " shall terminate on the 27th of November,
1966, unless the contracting Governments agree otherwise ". Since consideration
of the proposal by Her Majesty's Government that the Agreement should be
extended for a further five years is still under consideration and since the terminal
date is now close, I have the honour to suggest that the Agreement be temporarily
prolonged as it stands for a period of two months from the 28th of November, 1966,
until the 27th of January, 1967.
2. If this proposal is acceptable to the Government of Paraguay I have the
honour to suggest that Your Excellency's reply in that sense and this Note should
be regarded as constituting an Agreement between the two Governments in this
matter.
3. I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency the assurances
of my highest consideration.
