Installing the Software
NOTE: Removing your GroupShield 5.2 for Microsoft Exchange 2000
software leaves your users unprotected against virus attack spread by
infected items. Remove the program only when you are sure that you no
longer require this protection.
To remove GroupShield from a Microsoft Cluster Server configuration:
1 On the first cluster node, use the Cluster Administrator to take all the
GroupShield resources offline or to move the GroupShield group to
another node.
2 Double-click SETUP.EXE, which uses the SETUP.MSI file.
NOTE: If you have modified the SETUP.INI file using the /q /i
parameters, perhaps to carry out a silent install, you will need to
remove these changes in order to use SETUP.EXE to repair or
uninstall GroupShield.
3 On the Uninstall dialog box, select Remove All and click Next>.
NOTE: If the services are on-line on the server being uninstalled,
and it is the first server in the cluster, a message is displayed:
GroupShield for Exchange 2000 requires all GroupShield Exchange
cluster resources be offline on the local node.
Click OK to move all resources to the next node.
NOTE: If the current server is the last cluster, the same message will
be displayed, but the server will be unable to move resources.
The Updating System dialog box opens, displaying the message:
The features you selected are currently being uninstalled
The GroupShield services are stopped and GroupShield 5.2 for Microsoft
Exchange 2000 is removed from your system. This may take a few
minutes.
If you click Cancel from the Updating System dialog box, a confirmation
window opens. Clicking Exit Setup exits the installation.
The installation process returns the system to the state it was in before
installation started. Clicking Resume continues the uninstall from the
point it was stopped.
