Installing the Software<br />

2 On the <strong>GroupShield</strong> ® <strong>for</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>2000</strong> Setup dialog box, select Remove<br />

All and click Next>.<br />

The <strong>GroupShield</strong> ® <strong>for</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>2000</strong> Uninstall dialog box opens,<br />

displaying the message:<br />

This will remove <strong>GroupShield</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>2000</strong> from your machine. Are<br />

you sure you want to continue?<br />

3 Click Next> to remove <strong>GroupShield</strong>.<br />

The <strong>GroupShield</strong> services are stopped and <strong>GroupShield</strong> <strong>5.2</strong> <strong>for</strong> Microsoft<br />

<strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>2000</strong> is removed from your system. This may take a few<br />

minutes.<br />

If you click Cancel from the <strong>GroupShield</strong> ® <strong>for</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>2000</strong> Uninstall<br />

dialog box, a confirmation window opens. Clicking Exit Setup exits the<br />

uninstallation.<br />

The uninstallation process returns the system to the state it was in be<strong>for</strong>e<br />

uninstallation started. Clicking Resume continues the uninstall from the<br />

point it was stopped.<br />

4 On completion, click Finish to close the dialog box.<br />

Please refer to “Uninstall cleanup” on page 40.<br />

Removing the software from a cluster server<br />

You can remove <strong>GroupShield</strong> exchange either by using the Microsoft<br />

Windows Installer, or the standard Add/Remove Programs function in the<br />

Control Panel.<br />

You cannot uninstall from a cluster node on which a GSE cluster resource is<br />

currently active. There<strong>for</strong>e, be<strong>for</strong>e you can remove the software from a node,<br />

we recommend that you remove the <strong>GroupShield</strong> group.<br />

NOTE: It is important to remove the <strong>GroupShield</strong> resource from every<br />

relevant disk group, simply taking the service offline is not sufficient.<br />

Uninstall removes all the program files and registry settings created during<br />

installation of <strong>GroupShield</strong> from the node concerned. (Please refer to<br />

“Uninstall cleanup” on page 40.) When the last node in a cluster is uninstalled,<br />

the <strong>GroupShield</strong> cluster configuration data is removed.<br />
