Installing the Software<br />
You can customize the template to meet your requirements:<br />
If you want to install <strong>for</strong>ms, leave out<br />
STOPFORMINSTALL=Y.<br />
If you want to specify the installation directory during installation,<br />
leave out the INSTALLDIR parameter.<br />
If you want to preserve the existing configuration values, leave out<br />
the GSECONFIGFILE parameter. The previous version’s<br />
configuration values are preserved where appropriate, and the <strong>5.2</strong><br />
defaults are used where there are no equivalent existing values.<br />
2 Run SETUP.EXE.<br />
SETUP.EXE processes the SETUP.INI file, extracting the required<br />
installation in<strong>for</strong>mation, and runs SETUP.MSI on completion. If no<br />
parameters are changed by using the SETUP.INI file, the installation on<br />
the current server will be upgraded and as many of its configuration<br />
settings as possible will be retained.<br />
Using SETUP.INI to customize the installation<br />
You can upgrade a previous version of <strong>GroupShield</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> silently so that<br />
you do not have to respond during the installation process.<br />
Use the SETUP.EXE program to upgrade to <strong>GroupShield</strong> <strong>Exchange</strong> <strong>5.2</strong>.<br />
SETUP.EXE processes the SETUP.INI file, which provides in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />
necessary to per<strong>for</strong>m the installation. You must edit SETUP.INI as described<br />
below. The edited SETUP.INI launches the msiexec command, after having<br />
per<strong>for</strong>med various other tasks.<br />
NOTE: The three setup files (SETUP.EXE, SETUP.INI and SETUP.MSI)<br />
must be in the same directory.<br />
To edit SETUP.INI and upgrade your system silently, follow these steps:<br />
1 Edit SETUP.INI, or create it if necessary, and write the following text to it:<br />
[WiseInstaller]<br />
CmdLine=[STOPFORMINSTALL=Y]<br />
[INSTALLDIR=]<br />
[GSECONFIGFILE=.GSE] /q /i<br />
Silent=Yes<br />
UpgradeCmdLine=/q /x<br />
NOTE: The CmdLine section must be on a single line — ignore the<br />
line breaks above.<br />
