— 525 — La présence des amibes du sol dans l’intestin des animaux aquatiques, tels les canards et les mouettes d’une part, les rats musqués d’autre part, de même que chez les amphibiens et les poissons ainsi que nous venons de l’observer reste à considérer. Les animaux aquatiques sont susceptibles de contaminer l’eau et leur existence dans les réservoirs d’eau préalablement traitée et destinée à la consommation doit être soigneusement proscrite. En tous cas, la présence d’amibes limax dans l’intestin des oiseaux aquatiques et des rats musqués doit faire penser à un cycle dont les animaux tout comme l’homme constituent un des chaînons. Co n c l u s io n Nous retiendrons que des amibes du groupe limax, Hartman- nella, Vahlkampfia et Naegleria ont été décelées dans le contenu de l’intestin humain et dans celui de divers animaux dont des animaux aquatiques.
