avec un accent spécifique sur le transport. A ce moment nos membres pourront
proposer des ajouts ou poser des questions afin d’obtenir une image aussi claire que
possible du projet. Pendant les réunions des mois suivants, et après avoir donné à
chacun des intéressés l’occasion de réfléchir dans sa discipline, un texte sera préparé
ou une présentation faite d’où, après collation, résultera un document final susceptible
de paraître dans le Bulletin de l’Académie.

S u m m a r y . — Transport Changes in the 21st Century. — The internationalization
of worldwide economy has led to a number of changes and adaptations in almost
every aspect of our society. Through the perception of things around us, and considering
the multidisciplinary character of this Section of our Academy, everyone with his
own ideas can try to sketch a picture of what could happen on the long term. In
order to define boundaries and to avoid being too general which would give an
impression of confusion and weakness, it is suggested to consider the field of transport
in particular. In this way the general survey given at the meeting of February 26
has revealed the range of our perceptions in many fields with a special emphasis on
transport. Then our members will be free to suggest additions or ask questions in
order to get an idea as clear as possible of the project. In following meetings, and
after giving each of those concerned the opportunity to think it over in his own
discipline, a text will be prepared or a lecture given which, after checking, will result
in a final document likely to be published in the Academy’s Bulletin.
1. Inleiding
Veranderingen in de transportwereld voor de 21ste eeuw zullen de invloed
ondergaan van een aantal veranderingen gespreid over een groot aantal
verschillende onderwerpen. Enkele daarvan worden hierbij aangegeven.

In het kader van de huidige wereldeconomie stellen we vast dat handelsrelaties
tussen landen verspreid over de hele wereld een steeds grotere invloed
krijgen op ons dagelijks leven. Bij de bevoorrading van onze winkels bvb.
is de meest uiteenlopende oorsprong op de verpakking te vinden, zij het in
voedingswaren of textiel, onderdelen voor auto’s of toelevering van papier.
