Wichtig!
Ihre Eterna KonTiki verfügt über eine verschraubte Krone,
die man wie folgt bedienen muss:
– Durch Drehen im Gegenuhrzeigersinn wird die Krone
gelöst.
– Das Aufziehen von Hand sowie die Datums- und Zeiteinstellung
können nun vorgenommen werden.
– Anschliessend die Krone durch Eindrücken und Drehen
im Uhrzeigersinn wieder mit dem Gehäuse verschrauben.

Uhrfunktionen
1. Aufzug
Ihre Eterna · Matic Sportuhr besitzt ein mechanisches
Qualitätsuhrwerk mit automatischem Aufzug. Ein
geräuschlos drehender Rotor führt der Zugfeder selbst
bei geringsten Bewegungen des Handgelenks Energie
zu. In voll aufgezogenem Zustand beträgt die Gangreserve
etwa 40 Stunden. Deshalb ist, sofern die Uhr
regelmässig getragen wird, kein manuelles Aufziehen
der Uhr erforderlich. Sie können Ihre Armbanduhr, z.B.
wenn sie längere Zeit nicht benutzt wurde, auch von
Hand aufziehen. In Position A, nachdem sie die Krone
(1) durch einige Linksdrehungen vom Gehäuse gelöst
haben, bewegen Sie diese einige Umdrehungen im Uhrzeigersinn.
Das Überspannen der Zugfeder ist aufgrund
einer besonderen Vorrichtung nicht möglich. Abschliessend
sichern Sie die Krone (1) wieder, indem Sie diese
leicht gegen das Gehäuse drücken und im Uhrzeigersinn
festschrauben.
2. Einstellen und Korrektur der Datumsanzeige
Lösen Sie die Krone (1), wie auf Seite 4 beschrieben, aus
ihrer Verschraubung. Ziehen Sie nun die Krone (1) in
Position B. Das Datum (4) wird durch Drehen des
Datumzeigers (3) im Uhrzeigersinn (nach rechts) eingestellt.
Richten Sie den Datumzeiger auf das
gewünschte Datum auf der im Kreis angeordneten
Tages-Anzeige (4).
Beachten Sie aber unbedingt, dass die Datumsanzeige
zwischen 22.00 Uhr und 02.00 Uhr nicht von Hand verändert
werden darf.

3. Einstellen der Uhrzeit
Lösen Sie die Krone (1) – wie auf Seite 4 beschrieben –
aus ihrer Verschraubung. Ziehen Sie die Krone (1) in
Position C. Sie werden zunächst feststellen, dass der
kleine Sekundenzeiger (2) anhält. Eine besondere Vorrichtung
gestattet es Ihnen nämlich, die Uhrzeit, z.B.
anhand eines Zeitzeichens, sekundengenau einzustellen.
Aus diesem Grund ist es zweckmässig, die Krone (1)
erst dann zu ziehen, wenn sich der kleine Sekundenzeiger
(2) gerade bei 60 befindet. Stellen Sie nun die Zeiger
auf die korrekte Uhrzeit. Beachten Sie dabei jedoch,
dass die Datumsanzeige (3) jeweils um Mitternacht weiterspringen
muss. Sobald Sie die Krone (1) nach innen
drücken (Position A), setzt sich der kleine Sekundenzeiger
(2) wieder in Bewegung. Krone (1) wieder festschrauben.
Besondere Hinweise
4. Regelmässige Kontrolle der Wasserdichtigkeit
Die Wasserdichtigkeit Ihrer Eterna KonTiki reicht bis zu
einer Tiefe von 120 Metern. Um diesen aussergewöhnlichen
Wert zu erreichen, sind Aufzugskrone und Boden
mit dem Gehäuse verschraubt. Es muss jedoch an dieser
Stelle ausdrücklich betont werden, dass die jeweiligen
Angaben über den Grad der Wasserdichtigkeit
Momentaufnahmen sind und nicht auf lange Zeit
garantiert werden können. Manipulationen an der Uhr,
Alterungsprozesse beim Dichtungsmaterial oder starke
Temperaturschwankungen (z.B. vom Sonnenbad ins
kühle Nass) können auch dichtesten Gehäusen stark
zusetzen. Eindringendes Wasser oder auch Feuchtigkeit
können kostspielige Reparaturen nach sich ziehen.

Deshalb empfiehlt sich die regelmässige Kontrolle der
Wasserdichtigkeit Ihrer Armbanduhr.
5. Pflege Ihrer Eterna · Matic KonTiki 4 Zeiger Uhr
Ihre neue Sportuhr ist ein feines Präzisionsinstrument,
das mit grosser Sorgfalt gefertigt wurde. Beachten Sie
bitte die folgenden Hinweise, damit Ihre Armbanduhr
möglichst lange ihre anfängliche Präzision und ihr
gepflegtes Äusseres behält: Reinigen Sie Ihre Armbanduhr
regelmässig mit klarem, lauwarmem Wasser. Ein
Metallband lässt sich gut mit einer weichen Bürste säubern.
Vor allem nach dem Schwimmen in Salzwasser
sollten Sie Ihre Armbanduhr immer mit Süsswasser
abspülen.
6. Service
Das kleine Uhrwerk Ihrer KonTiki Sportuhr leistet
Schwerstarbeit. Mehr als eine Milliarde Bewegungen
vollzieht es innerhalb von vier Jahren. Deshalb sollten
Sie Ihre Armbanduhr spätestens nach dieser Zeit einem
Fachgeschäft anvertrauen, das Eterna führt. Dort wird
ein qualifizierter Uhrmacher das Uhrwerk überprüfen,
reinigen und mit frischem Öl versehen. Einmal jährlich
sollten Sie Ihre Sportuhr auf ihre Wasserdichtigkeit überprüfen
lassen. Dies erspart Ihnen unangenehme Überraschungen.

Important
Ce modèle Eterna KonTiki comporte une couronne vissée,
à manipuler comme suit:
– faire tourner la couronne dans le sens anti-horaire pour
la dévisser;
– une fois dévissée, la couronne servira au besoin à remonter
manuellement le mouvement ainsi qu’à remettre la
montre à l’heure et à régler son calendrier;
– repousser ensuite la couronne contre le boîtier et la
revisser complètement en la faisant tourner dans le sens
horaire.

Fonctions de la montre
1. Remontage
La montre de sport Eterna KonTiki est équipé d’un mouvement
mécanique à remontage automatique de
grande qualité. Réagissant aux moindres gestes de l’avant-bras,
sa masse oscillante transmettra directement
au ressort-moteur l’énergie que produit son va-et-vient.
Son remontage complet lui fournit une réserve de
marche d’environ 40 heures. Porté régulièrement, il ne
demande aucun remontage manuel. Non porté pendant
quelque temps, il pourra être remonté manuellement en
dévissant la couronne (1) dans le sens anti-horaire (voir
page 10) puis en faisant tourner de quelques tours dans
le sens horaire la couronne (1) en position A. Un dispositif
spécial empêche toute tension excessive du ressortmoteur.
Repousser ensuite la couronne (1) contre le
boîtier et la revisser complètement en la tournant dans
le sens horaire.
2. Réglage et correction du quantième
Desserrez la couronne (1) comme décrit en page 10.
Amenez ensuite la couronne (1) en position B. Pour
régler le quantième (4), faites tourner l’aiguille du quantième
(3) dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre (vers la
droite). Pointez l’aiguille du quantième sur la date
voulue de l’échelle circulaire du quantième (4).
Notez toutefois que l’affichage du quantième ne doit
jamais être modifié manuellement entre 22 heures et 2
heures.
3. Réglage de l’heure
Dévisser (voir page 10) puis tirer la couronne (1) jusqu’en
position C à l’instant précis où la petite aiguille

des secondes (2) se trouve sur 60. La petite aiguille des
secondes (2) s’immobilisera instantanément, grâce à un
dispositif spécial du mouvement destiné au réglage de
la montre à la seconde près, par exemple sur un signal
horaire. Amener les autres aiguilles sur l’heure et la
minute exactes en tenant compte du changement du
calendrier quantième (3) à minuit. Au signal horaire,
repousser la couronne en position A. La petite aiguille
des secondes (2) reprendra instantanément sa marche.
Revisser alors complètement la couronne.
Recommandations particulières
4. Contrôle périodique de l’étanchéité
L’étanchéité de la montre Eterna KonTiki est assurée jusqu’à
120 mètres de profondeur. Il convient toutefois de
préciser qu’un degré donné d’étanchéité traduit des
constatations réalisées à un moment donné et ne saurait
engager durablement l’avenir. Les manipulations
quotidiennes de la montre, l’inévitable vieillissement des
joints d’étanchéité ainsi que les importants écarts de
température (d’une plage surchauffée à l’eau froide, par
exemple) peuvent compromettre le plus étanche des
boîtiers. L’eau ou même l’humidité pouvant causer des
dégâts coûteux à réparer, il est recommandé de faire
contrôler régulièrement l’étanchéité de votre montre.
5. Entretien
La montre de sport Eterna KonTiki est un instrument de
haute précision fabriqué avec le plus grand soin. L’observation
des recommandations suivantes permettra de
conserver à votre montre sa précision de marche et son
aspect de neuf. Ne pas hésiter à la laver régulièrement,

directement sous le robinet d’eau tiède à l’aide d’une
brosse non abrasive. Enfin, toujours bien rincer votre
montre à l’eau douce après toute immersion dans l’eau
de mer.
6. Service
Le petit mouvement de la montre Eterna KonTiki
accomplit pas moins d’un milliard de battements en
quatre ans. Un effort aussi exceptionnel mérite qu’à l’issue
de cette période la montre soit confiée à un centre
de service Eterna, où des horlogers qualifiés la nettoieront
et la lubrifieront au cours d’une révision approfondie.
D’autre part, l’étanchéité de votre montre
devrait être contrôlée chaque année. Au cas où vous
auriez d’autres questions concernant la montre Eterna

Important
Every Eterna KonTiki model features a screw-locked crown
that works as follows:
– rotate the crown counterclockwise to unscrew and
release it;
– the crown is now ready for manual winding of the movement
or for setting the watch hands and the calendar;
– after these operations, push the crown back against the
case and screw it tightly by rotating it clockwise.

Watch Functions
1. Winding
The Eterna KonTiki sports watch is equipped with a
high-quality selfwinding mechanical movement. Reacting
almost silently to every movement of the forearm,
this movement’s oscillating weight conveys directly to
the mainspring the energy generated by its to-and-fro
motion. When fully wound, the mainspring stores some
40 hours of reserve power. If worn regularly, the watch
will not require hand winding. If on the other hand it
remains off the wrist for some time, it can be rewound
manually. After unscrewing the crown (1) by rotating it
counterclockwise (see page 16), rewind the movement
by rotating the crown (1) clockwise. A special device in
the movement prevents excessive winding of the mainspring.
Push the crown back against the case then screw
it in tightly by rotating it clockwise a few times.
2. Adjusting and correcting the date display
Release the screwdown crown (1), as explained on page
16. Now pull the crown (1) out to position B. Adjust the
date (4) by turning the date hand (3) clockwise (towards
the right). Set the date hand to the desired date on the
date display arranged in the circle (4).
Please make sure not to adjust the date display between
10pm and 2am.
3. Setting the watch to the correct time
Unscrew (see page 16) then pull the crown (1) out to
position C at the precise instant the small seconds hand
(2) moves over 60. The small seconds hand (2) will stop
instantly, owing to a special mechanism that allows the
watch to be reset to the exact second – for example by

eference to a time signal. Set the hour and minute
hands to the correct time, taking into account that the
date calendar (3) should advance at midnight, not at
noon. At the time signal, push the crown back in to
position A. The small seconds hand (2) will instantly start
up again. Screw the crown back in tightly.
Important Recommendations
4. Regular water resistance checks
The water resistance of the Eterna KonTiki sports watch
is guaranteed to 120 m (nearly 400 feet). It owes its
exceptional water resistance to the fact that both its setting
crown and the case back are screw-locked. It
should however be stressed that a watch’s rated water
resistance is determined at a given moment in time and
that the integrity of its case against penetration by moisture,
water and fine dust particles cannot be guaranteed
over the long term. Day-to-day handling of the
watch, the inevitable ageing of its watertight gaskets
and seals along with temperature extremes (plunging
the watch in cold water after long exposure to the heat
of the sun, for example) are enough to compromise the
technical integrity of any watch case. As moisture or
water can lead to costly repairs, it is advisable to have
your watch’s water resistance checked regularly.
5. Maintenance
The Eterna KonTiki sports watch is a precision instrument
designed and built to exacting standards. The following
recommendations will help to preserve your
watch’s precision timekeeping and keep it in mint condition

let, do not hesitate to clean it regularly with a soft brush
in lukewarm tap water. Always remember to rinse the
watch thoroughly in fresh water after its every exposure
to salt water.
6. Servicing
Small as it is, the Eterna KonTiki’s movement will beat
over one billion times over a four-years period. At the
end of this time, it should be brought in to an authorised
Eterna service centre where it will be thoroughly inspected
and overhauled, cleaned and lubricated. The
watch’s water resistance should also be checked
annually. Should you have any further questions regarding
the Eterna KonTiki, do not hesitate to get in touch

agent for your country.

Funzioni orologio
1. Carica
La sua Eterna KonTiki è dotato di un meccanismo a
carica automatica di alta qualità. A ogni minimo movimento
del polso un rotore trasmette energia alla molla.
Quando la carica è completa, la riserva di marcia è di
40 ore circa. Se l’orologio viene portato regolarmente al
polso, non occorre ricaricarlo. Se non lo si usa per un
certo periodo, lo si può caricare manualmente: svitare
prima la corona (1) ruotandola in senso antiorario, poi
farle compiere – in posizione A – qualche giro in senso
orario. Uno speciale dispositivo impedisce alla molla di
tendersi troppo. Compiuta l’operazione, risospingere
delicatamente la corona (1) contro la cassa e riavvitarla a
fondo, ruotandola in senso orario.
2. Impostazione e correzione della data
Sbloccate la corona (1) dalla sua sede a vite, secondo
quanto descritto a pag 22. Tirate quindi la corona (1)
nella posizione B. La data (4) s’imposta girando l’indicatore
rispettivo (3) in senso orario (verso destra).
Aggiustate l’indicatore sul giorno rispettivo che compare
sull’apposito datario circolare del quadrante (4).
Prestate assolutamente attenzione a non operare
manualmente il cambio della data tra le ore 22.00 e le
ore 02.00.
3. Ore/minuti
Svitare la corona (1) (v. pag. 22) e aspettare che la piccola
lancetta dei secondi (2) si trovi esattamente sul 60.
A questo punto, estrarre la corona e portarla in posizione
C: la piccola lancetta dei secondi (2) si ferma
immediatamente, grazie a un speciale dispositivo che

permette di regolare l’ora con la precisione del secondo,
servendosi per esempio di un segnale orario. Portare le
lancette sull’ora e sul minuto esatti, tenendo presente
che la data (3) deve cambiare a mezzanotte. Al segnale
orario, risospingere la corona contro la cassa, in posizione
A: la piccola lancetta dei secondi (2) si rimette in
moto istantaneamente.
Consigli utili
4. Controllo periodico dell’impermeabilità
La sua Eterna KonTiki è impermeabile fino a 120 metri
di profondità. Per ottenere questo alto grado d’impermeabilità,
la corona di carica e il fondocassa sono a vite.
Occorre precisare tuttavia che queste indicazioni sul
grado di impermeabilità sono il risultato di semplici
osservazioni, e non possono essere considerate una
garanzia valida per sempre. Le manipolazioni abituali a
cui viene sottoposta la cassa, l’invecchiamento dei componenti
che assicurano l’impermeabilità, i forti scarti di
temperatura (quando l’orologio passa per esempio dal
sole cocente all’acqua fredda) possono mettere in crisi
anche la cassa più impermeabile che ci sia. In tal caso le
infiltrazioni d’acqua o di umidità possono richiedere
costose riparazioni. Di qui l’utilità di far controllare regolarmente
l’impermeabilità del Suo cronografo.
5. Manutenzione
La sua Eterna KonTiki è uno strumento di alta precisione,
fabbricato con la massima cura. Se vuole che conservi
il più a lungo possibile la sua precisione e il suo
bell’aspetto, lo pulisca a intervalli regolari con acqua
tiepida, e dopo aver nuotato in acqua salata sciacqui

l’orologio con acqua dolce. Per pulire il bracciale di
metallo si serva di uno spazzolino morbido.
6. Servizio
Il piccolo movimento che anima il orologio Eterna Kon-
Tiki compie un lavoro eccezionale: in quattro anni effettua
oltre un miliardo di movimenti. Trascorso questo
arco di tempo, è consigliabile affidarlo a un centro di
assistenza Eterna, che provvederà a un’accurata revisione.
L’impermeabilità del cronografo dovrebbe invece
essere controllata una volta all’anno. Se ha altre
domande a proposito del Suo orologio Eterna KonTiki, si
rivolga con piena fiducia al Suo orologiaio specializzato
Eterna o all’Agente generale della Sua area.

Este modelo Eterna KonTiki va provisto de una corona atornillada
que se acciona de la manera siguiente:
– Desenroscar la corona girándola en sentido inverso de
rotación horaria.
– Con la corona desenroscada se podrá dar cuerda manualmente
al reloj así como ponerlo en hora y ajustar su calendario.
– Seguidamente, apretar la corona contra la caja y atornillarla

Funciones del reloj
1. Operación de dar cuerda
Este modelo Eterna · Matic KonTiki va dotado de un
mecanismo de cuerda automática de alta calidad. La
energía producida por los movimientos del brazo es
transmitida al muelle real por mediación de la masa
oscilante. Con su cuerda totalmente tensada, el mecanismo
automático ofrece una reserva de marcha de 40
horas aproximadamente. Si se lleva puesto el reloj regularmente,
no será necesario darlo cuerda manual. Si, por
el contrario, no se ha llevado puesto durante algún
tiempo, se le podrá dar cuerda manualmente desatornillando
la corona (1) en sentido inverso de rotación
horaria (ver pág. 28) y girándola seguidamente varias
veces en sentido de rotación horaria, en posición A.
Un dispositivo especial impide la tensión excesiva del
muelle real. A continuación, apretar la corona (1) contra
la caja y atornillarla a fondo girándola en sentido de
rotación horaria.
2. Ajuste y corrección de la indicación de fecha
Desatornille la corona (1) de su atornilladura según se
describe en la página 28. Tire ahora de la corona (1)
hasta la posición B. La fecha (4) se ajusta mediante giro
del indicador de fecha (3) en el sentido de las agujas del
reloj (hacia la derecha). Oriente el inicador de fecha en
la fecha deseada sobre la indicación del día (4) dispuesta
en círculo.
Observe necesariamente que la indicación de fecha no
debe ser modificada a mano entre 22.00 h y 02.00 h.

3. Ajuste de la hora
Desatornillar (ver pág. 28) y tirar de la corona (1) hasta

segundero (2) se inmovilizará instantáneamente gracias
a un dispositivo especial del mecanismo que permite el
ajuste del reloj al segundo exacto, tomando por ejemplo
como referencia una señal horaria. A continuación, colocar
las otras agujas en la hora y el minuto exactos observando
que el cambio de fecha (3) se produce a medianoche.
Al oir la señal horaria, apretar nuevamente la corona
en posición A. El segundero (2) reanudará instantáneamente
su marcha. A continuación, atornillar a fondo la
corona.

4. Control periódico de la impermeabilidad
La impermeabilidad del Eterna · Matic KonTiki está garantizada
hasta 120 metros de profundidad. Cabe subrayar,
no obstante, que las indicaciones relativas al grado
de impermeabilidad son el resultado de observaciones
puntuales, no constituyendo por tanto garantía alguna
de continuidad. En efecto, el propio uso del reloj,
el inevitable deterioro de las juntas de hermeticidad, así
como las variaciones bruscas de temperatura (por ejemplo
el hecho de sumergir el reloj en agua fría tras una
larga exposición al sol) pueden dañar cualquier reloj por
muy bien protegido que esté. Dado que el agua, e incluso
la humedad, pueden ocasionar reparaciones costosas
para su reloj, se recomienda verificar su impermeabilidad
periódicamente.

5. Mantenimiento
Este modelo Eterna · Matic KonTiki es un instrumento
de alta precisión fabricado con el máximo esmero. Observando
atentamente las instrucciones de empleo detalladas
a continuación, su reloj conservará su precisión
y su calidad estética durante largo tiempo. Es importante
lavar regularmente el reloj con agua templada directamente
del grifo, utilizando un cepillo suave. Asimismo
se recomienda enjuagar el reloj con agua dulce cada vez
que se sumerja en agua de mar.
6. Servicio
El mecanismo del modelo Eterna · Matic KonTiki ejecuta
más de mil millones de movimientos en cuatro años. Al
cabo de este período, y tras un esfuerzo tan excepcional,
su reloj merece bien una revisión completa por parte de
un centro de servicio Eterna, donde relojeros cualificados
se encargarán igualmente de limpiarlo y engrasarlo
cuidadosamente. Asimismo, se recomienda verificar la
impermeabilidad de su reloj una vez al año. Para toda información
