Your doctor asked you to collect your stools. You must follow this diet for (3) days before collecting specimens and<br />
during the (3) days that you collect the specimens.<br />
INSTRUCTIONS:<br />
• Day # 1 - # 2 - # 3: follow the diet.<br />
• Day # 4 - # 5 - # 6: continue the diet and collects one specimen of stool per day and this, for three (3)<br />
consecutive days.<br />
• The stool must not come into contact with the toilet water. (Therefore you may need to place something over<br />
the bowl to catch the specimen).<br />
• Take the specimen from an area that is bloody or very dark in the stool. The amount needed is equal to<br />
the size of an egg yoke.<br />
• Identify your specimen clearly :<br />
o SURNAME ( FOR WOMEN YOUR MAIDEN NAME) AND THEN, FIRST NAME<br />
o DATE OF BIRTH<br />
o DATE SPECIMEN TAKEN<br />
• Keep the specimens in a cool place and then take them to the (Centre de prélèvement ) once the collection<br />
is complete.<br />
Red meats and foods that might contain any:<br />
Beef, veal, lamb, horse meat, liver,<br />
Game meats, cold cuts and sausages<br />
Vegetables :<br />
Raw Broccoli, raw cauliflower, turnip and raw cabbage,<br />
Raw parsnip, radish, tomatoes<br />
DO NOT EAT<br />
Fruits :<br />
Raw Cantaloupe, melon, bananas, grapefruit.<br />
Others :<br />
Horseradish, ketchup, paprika<br />
Other raw fruits and vegetables are allowed in moderation (one fruit and one vegetable per day).<br />
DO NOT TAKE<br />
Aspirin and it's derivative (ASA), Anti-inflammatory Vitamin C, Iron supplements<br />
Alcohol<br />
*If you take one of these medications, check with your doctor to see if you can stop them for the test.<br />
FOODS YOU CAN EAT<br />
Poultry, pork, Ham, Fish Cooked vegetables and fruits as desired<br />
A diet high in fibers is recommended (whole wheat breads and cereals, nuts, grains and legumes) in order<br />
to avoid constipation and facilitate elimination.<br />
