FASNY alumni flocked to New York
City’s Galerie Mark Hachem for the
annual Alumni Reunion. The Reunion
was graciously hosted by gallery owner
and current FASNY parent, Mark
Hachem. “Tonight, there’s a really great
crowd in here!” said the international
art dealer. Former FASNY students had
the opportunity to admire the art work
— everything from obscure paintings,
large installations, and sculpture —
while sampling hand-rolled sushi, cold
soups, and hot hors d’oeuvres from a
master sushi chef.
While the location and the food were huge
attractions, FASNY alums mainly came to catch up
with old classmates and visit with faculty and friends.
“Our class, I think it was the tightest FASNY has
ever seen!” said Fanny Quehe ’06. “I think there
were 19 of us,” added her classmate, Monica
Fernandez ’06, who attends McGill University. Both
FASNY alums were living in New York City over the
summer, attending the Fashion Institute of
Technology and interning at Tamarind Art Gallery
respectively. Faculty in attendance included FASNY
founder Katrine Watkins, Nancy Osborne, and
Aileen Jabart, who doubled as a guest presenter as
she raffled off alumni logowear from the new
FASNY Boutique. n
