91 terrorists reported killed in clashes in the Southeast
Turkish Daily News
ANKARN A total of 91 KurdistaJ\ Worker's
Party (PKK) terrorists have been killed over the
past six days during the operations co~ducted in
the Emergency Rule areas, accord mg to an
announcement from the office of the Emergency
Rule governor on Monday.
Six terrorists were killed in an attempted raid
of Hakkari:s Umurlu and Yolgeldi settlements in
the Derecik district, carried out by a 30-man separatist
group.
More than 20terrorists were killed during the
raid, according to the Anatolia news agency.
Twelve teams of the Hakkari Mountain
Commando Brigade were sent to the area
after the attack was reported to the security
forces. During the clash, one specialteam member
and three temporary village guards were shot
dead.
Operations in the area continue, and Cobra
helicopters and Turkish Air Force jets are also
being used.
On the other hand, the operations conducted by
the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) in the Alanduzu
region came to a successfulend when 73 terrorists
were killed.
The Alanduzu operation started on May 30,
after intelligence sources informed the security
forces that a group of 100-150 terrorists had prepar~d
an attack on the Semdinli and Yuksekova
regIOns.
More terrorists in the Emergency Rule areas
were killed and four separatists surrendered to the
security forces. During the clashes, a total of 19
sep.aratists were killed, five in ~Irnak's Fmdlk
regIOn, .
four in Hakkari's Alanduzu region, four in
Tunceli's Ovacik district, four in Elazig's
Karakoçan and Dryarbaklr' s Kulp district, and
two in Bitlis and ~Imak's Balveren area. Three
security officials were also killed during these
operations.
Four collaborators of the terrorist PKK organization
were also captured in Elazlg, and legal
procedures have been initiated.
In the meantime, the operations of the Anti-
Terrorism team in Istanbul continued on Monday,
resulting in the arrest of the leader and three
members of the outlawed radicalleftist groups
THKP-ClMLSPB.
The suspects, involved in numerous bombings
armed assaults and illegal fundraising were
arrested as a result of the information received by
the special forces.
The militaristic flank of the organization
THKP.C, which is Marxist-Leninist character,
had been in the process of rebuilding. Members
of the illegal organization, which had been active
before the military intervention of September 12,
1980, including their leader Hasan Sensoy (code~
name Ramazan Klhç), Necef Kulu Alpacay,
Nevzat SaYlr and Erol Çelikten were taken into
custody.
In the searches conducted by the security
members four semi-automatic and automatic
guns of various calibers, ammunition and two
silencers, as well as propaganda material, were
confiscated.
The suspects have been accused of several
