91 terrorists reported killed in clashes in the Southeast<br />

ANKARN A total of 91 KurdistaJ\ Worker's<br />
Party (PKK) terrorists have been killed over the<br />
past six days during the operations co~ducted in<br />
the Emergency Rule areas, accord mg to an<br />
announcement from the office of the Emergency<br />
Rule governor on Monday.<br />
Six terrorists were killed in an attempted raid<br />
of Hakkari:s Umurlu and Yolgeldi s<strong>et</strong>tlements in<br />
the Derecik district, carried out by a 30-man separatist<br />
group.<br />
More than 20terrorists were killed during the<br />
raid, according to the Anatolia news agency.<br />
Twelve teams of the Hakkari Mountain<br />
Commando Briga<strong>de</strong> were sent to the area<br />
after the attack was reported to the security<br />
forces. During the clash, one specialteam member<br />
and three temporary village guards were shot<br />
<strong>de</strong>ad.<br />
Operations in the area continue, and Cobra<br />
helicopters and Turkish Air Force j<strong>et</strong>s are also<br />
being used.<br />
On the other hand, the operations conducted by<br />
the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) in the Alanduzu<br />
region came to a successfulend when 73 terrorists<br />
were killed.<br />
The Alanduzu operation started on May 30,<br />
after intelligence sources informed the security<br />
forces that a group of 100-150 terrorists had prepar~d<br />
an attack on the Semdinli and Yuksekova<br />
regIOns.<br />
More terrorists in the Emergency Rule areas<br />
were killed and four separatists surren<strong>de</strong>red to the<br />
security forces. During the clashes, a total of 19<br />
sep.aratists were killed, five in ~Irnak's Fmdlk<br />
regIOn, .<br />
four in Hakkari's Alanduzu region, four in<br />
Tunceli's Ovacik district, four in Elazig's<br />
Karakoçan and Dryarbaklr' s Kulp district, and<br />
two in Bitlis and ~Imak's Balveren area. Three<br />
security officials were also killed during these<br />
operations.<br />
Four collaborators of the terrorist PKK organization<br />
were also captured in Elazlg, and legal<br />
procedures have been initiated.<br />
In the meantime, the operations of the Anti-<br />
Terrorism team in Istanbul continued on Monday,<br />
resulting in the arrest of the lea<strong>de</strong>r and three<br />
members of the outlawed radicalleftist groups<br />
THKP-ClMLSPB.<br />
The suspects, involved in numerous bombings<br />
armed assaults and illegal fundraising were<br />
arrested as a result of the information received by<br />
the special forces.<br />
The militaristic flank of the organization<br />
THKP.C, which is Marxist-Leninist character,<br />
had been in the process of rebuilding. Members<br />
of the illegal organization, which had been active<br />
before the military intervention of September 12,<br />
1980, including their lea<strong>de</strong>r Hasan Sensoy (co<strong>de</strong>~<br />

Nevzat SaYlr and Erol Çelikten were taken into<br />
custody.<br />

The suspects have been accused of several<br />
