ANKARA- The Assembly of the<br />
Conference on Security and<br />
Cooperation in Europe (CSCE) has<br />
recommen<strong>de</strong>d that two <strong>de</strong>legations<br />
be sent to Turkey to study the case of<br />
pro-Kurdish <strong>de</strong>puties who have been<br />
put in prison after their parliamentary<br />
immunity was lifted, and to<br />
monitor the human rights situation in<br />
Southeast Turkey.<br />
The Assembly has un<strong>de</strong>rlined<br />
however that Turkey is justified in<br />
combaUin,8 terrorism and <strong>de</strong>fending<br />
its terri tonal integrity.<br />
The advisory <strong>de</strong>CISion to send <strong>de</strong>legations<br />
to Turkey was taken by the<br />
Assembly at the close of its me<strong>et</strong>ing<br />
in Vienna on Friday.<br />
This <strong>de</strong>cision by the assembly<br />
was protested angrily by attending<br />
Turkish <strong>de</strong>puties who said<br />
Turkey would refuse to accept these<br />
<strong>de</strong>legations or any sent by the<br />
CSCE.<br />
The 9 man Turkish <strong>de</strong>legation at<br />
the Vienna gathering of 312 <strong>de</strong>puties<br />
from 52 countries said in a statement<br />
issued later that the reasons that the<br />
CSCE assembly had <strong>de</strong>ci<strong>de</strong>d to ask<br />
for <strong>de</strong>legations to be sent to Turkey<br />
did not reflect the truth.<br />

(DYP) <strong>de</strong>p,uty MUnif Islamollu,<br />
expressed' intense opposition" to the<br />
assembly's <strong>de</strong>cision ..<br />
Claiming that the <strong>de</strong>mocratic<br />
process in Turkey was akin to that of<br />
the most advanced <strong>de</strong>mocracies in<br />
the West, the statement said :''To try<br />
and expose Turkey is such an orgamzation<br />
IS a laughable effort."<br />

ANKARA, 10 juin (AFP) - 15 rebelles kur<strong>de</strong>s ont été tués dimanche lors<br />
d'opérations militaires dans le sud-est anatolien, a annoncé la<br />
super-préfecture <strong>de</strong> Diyarbakir, responsable <strong>de</strong> la lutte contre la rébellion<br />
du Parti <strong>de</strong>s travailleurs du Kurdistan (PKK, séparatiste).<br />
Ce bilan porte à 73 le nombre <strong>de</strong> morts --60 rebelles du PKK, 8 membres<br />
<strong>de</strong>s forces <strong>de</strong> l'ordre turques <strong>et</strong> 5 civils-- <strong>de</strong>puis jeudi dans la région lors<br />
d'opérations militaires ou combats entre armée turque <strong>et</strong> maquisards kur<strong>de</strong>s.<br />
Au total 118 personnes --101 rebelles, 9 civils <strong>et</strong> 8 membres <strong>de</strong>s forces<br />
l'ordre-- ont été tuées <strong>de</strong>puis le 1er juill<strong>et</strong> dans c<strong>et</strong>te région à majorité<br />
kur<strong>de</strong>, selon un décompte <strong>de</strong> l'AFP effectuée à partir <strong>de</strong> bilans officiels.<br />
Le bilan <strong>de</strong>s accrochages <strong>de</strong>puis le début <strong>de</strong> la rébellion du PKK en août<br />
1984 s'élève à au moins 13.278 morts.<br />
