Résultats et discussion. Chapitre 2: Optimisation de la production du spawn
The present study was aimed to evaluate ergosterol from mycelium of a basidiomycete
(Lentinula edodes), for indirect estimation of quantity of biomass culturing in solid state
fermentation for production of spawn on Ebly®. The effects of medium of culture and age of
mycelium were evaluated in liquid state and in agar plate covered with cellophane membrane
as model system for solid state culture. This system allows the growth of mycelium and
prevents penetration of the mycelium into the substrate of the culture.
3.1. Growth curves in liquid state culture.
The growth curves of L. edodes cultivated on different media in liquid state culture are
shown in Fig. 2. The highest ratio of biomass was obtained on ME (102 ±6.0 mg.L -1 ).
However, the ergosterol content (3.6 mg.g -1 dw) of L. edodes in both media (ME and 10% of
OMW) was not statistically different during cultivation time.
