3.2. Formulation of solid olive substrate
Lentinula edodes strains Le119, selected from previous screening experiments in
respect to their efficacy in decolorizing OMW (Lakhtar et al., 2009), was initially grown on
PDA supplemented with 10% of OMW. The effect of various olive substrate mixtures on
mycelial biomass of L. edodes Le119 strain is shown in Table 6. Treatments two and three,
containing a mixture of OTL and OC, had mycelial biomass of 16.24 and 14.58 mg.g -1 of
substrate dry weight (dw), respectively. The treatment containing OTL wetted with OMW
were considered group d containing the lowest mycelial yield (5.98 mg.g -1 of substrate dw).
The best formulation of SOS contains OTL (20 %), OC (30 %) and OMW (50 %). This
mixture will used to follow this work.
