V. APRÈS LA REMISE
DES LETTRES
DE CRÉANCE
15. Après la remise de ses lettres de
créance, le chef de mission peut déposer
au service du protocole sa carte de
visite à l'intention des autres membres
de la Commission.
16. Le chef de mission informe par
écrit tous les autres chefs de mission
de sa prise de fonctions.
17. Le chef de mission informe par
écrit les présidents des autres institutions
de l'Union européenne ainsi que
les représentants permanents des État
s membres de sa prise de fonctions et
leur propose une visite à leur plus
proche convenance.
VI. ANCIENNETÉ
ET PRÉSÉANCE
18. Le doyen du corps diplomatique
accrédité auprès des Communautés
européennes est le nonce apostolique.
19. L'ambassadeur le plus anciennement
accrédité assiste le doyen en
qualité de vice-doyen et le remplace
en son absence.
20. Lorsque les circonstances le
demandent, le doyen — ou, en son
absence, le vice-doyen — assure la
représentation du corps diplomatique.

V. AFTER THE
PRESENTATION OF
CREDENTIALS
15. After presenting his credentials,
the Head of Mission could leave his
visiting with the Protocol service to
be handed over to the Members of the
Commission.
16. The Head of Mission informs all
other Heads of Mission that he is
taking up his duties.
17. The Head of Mission informs the
Presidents of the other institutions of
the European Union and the Permanent
Representatives of the Member
States that he is taking up his duties
and propose to pay a visit at their earliest
convenience.
VI. SENIORITY AND
PRECEDENCE
18. The Papal Nuncio is the Doyen of
the Diplomatic Corps accredited to
the European Communities.
19. The accredited Ambassador of
longest standing assists the Doyen as
Vice-Doyen and replaces him in his
absence.
20. Where circumstances so require,
the Doyen — or, in his absence, the
Vice-Doyen — represents the Diplomatic
