The host of a highly rated political TV show hangs out with his new
friend, a psychic young woman, hoping to use her extraordinary
skills to gain information on the secret plans and lives of the
members of the political elite. A pregnant woman, the mother of an
eleven year old child and her gay brother, a successful surgeon, plot
to get rid of their senile, ailing father by leaving him on the side of
the road, in the middle of nowhere. An aging university professor,
a member of the Academy and passionate lottery player employs
his son as his driver thus providing him with shelter from being
prosecuted for war crimes committed during the conflict in Kosovo
These and other seemingly unconnected upsetting stories will start
relating to each other as the play develops, creating a gloomy and
disturbing vision of a changing society which is still determined by
the values and decisions of the older generation refusing to give up
its power.
L’animateur d’un show télévisé politique très regardé s’affiche
avec sa nouvelle petite amie, une jeune femme médium espérant
utiliser ses dons extraordinaires pour obtenir des informations
sur les projets secrets et la vie de l’élite politique. Une femme
enceinte, mère d’un enfant de onze ans, et son frère homosexuel, un
chirurgien à succès, complotent pour se débarrasser de leur père
sénile et souffrant en décidant de l’abandonner sur une route au
milieu de nulle part. Un professeur d’université vieillissant, membre
de l’Académie et joueur passionné à la loterie, emploie son propre
fils comme chauffeur, le protégeant ainsi d’une poursuite pour crime
de guerre pendant le conflit au Kosovo. Ces histoires dérangeantes
comme les autres qui suivent, apparemment sans lien entre elles,
décrivent, au fur et à mesure que la pièce avance, une vision lugubre
d’une société en plein changement qui est toujours déterminée par
les valeurs et les décisions d’une génération plus âgée qui refuse de
laisser la place.
