Main departments:<br />
FGUVA, with more than 100 employees (70 permanent staff on average),<br />
supplies diff erent services to the University Community. Apart from managing some facilities of<br />
Valladolid University, such as the Languages Centre and the Palace of Congresses, FGUVA consists of two<br />
main departments: the Transfer of Innovation Offi ce and the Employment and Training Dpt. Each one<br />
contributes in its own way to the achievement of the General Foundation’s main mission.<br />
INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT: It is the Technology and Innovation Transfer Offi ce of<br />
the University of Valladolid. It manages both the technology off er and the intellectual and industrial<br />
property. It promotes and manages innovation projects, contracts with R&D companies and institutions.<br />
It enhances researching, development and innovation (I + D + I).<br />
EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING AND PROJECTS DEPARTMENT: It consists on 3 areas, each one closely related to the<br />
others:<br />
– Training Area: It promotes, organises and manages its own training courses and training courses<br />
funded by the European Social Fund, tog<strong>et</strong>her with the Master degrees of the University of Valladolid,<br />
the Specialist courses and training courses based on specifi c needs of companies. It also carries out the<br />
analysis of training needs and roles.<br />
– Employment Area: It supplies help and career guidance services to students and recent graduates<br />
(including entrepreneur promotion). The Employment Area manages diff erent programmes of labour<br />
insertion in order to help students and graduates to g<strong>et</strong> into the labour mark<strong>et</strong>, such as professional<br />
training (both in Spain and in foreign countries), management of employment off ers, students and<br />
graduates placements and grants. It has established an Observatory of professional opportunities and<br />
needs of the labour mark<strong>et</strong> and it uses the results for providing vocational guidance and assistance for<br />
professional comp<strong>et</strong>ence adaptation.<br />
– Studies and Projects area: It contributes to help Training and Employment areas to innovate in the<br />
–<br />
development of their processes and products. The main outcome of the services provided by this area<br />
to the other two and to FGUVA in general terms, is the design of new training programmes, of new work<br />
procedures and new guidance systems.<br />
As a result of the work developed in the framework of diff erent International Projects (specially funded<br />
by Leonardo da Vinci Programme) it has established an Observatory of Professional Opportunities for<br />
university graduates and of Labour Mark<strong>et</strong> Needs with regard to the Human Resources they hire with<br />
University Degrees. The Observatory is an important source of in<strong>formation</strong> for the adaptation of the<br />
training plans to the real needs of the<br />

– Vocational guidance and help for professional comp<strong>et</strong>ence adaptation.<br />
