– Strengthening of the Education System, 2006-2009, Argentina, carried out for the European Union:<br />

The „Integral Programme for an Egalitarian Education“ (PIIE) has been devised within a wider political<br />

sphere, in which the State is committed to improve the living conditions of the most unprivileged social<br />

sectors. The aim of PIIE is to provide children with b<strong>et</strong>ter education opportunities.<br />

– Mapping of the scientifi c-technical and education-related Co-operation b<strong>et</strong>ween Germany and Brazil,<br />

2007-2008., carried out for the Ministry for Research and Education. The project tried to fi nd a respond<br />

to the increasing demand of scientifi c-technical co-operation with emerging (threshold) / anchor<br />

countries and to enhance the transfer of innovative technologies to SMEs of these countries. It took<br />

stock of the partners of existing co-operations b<strong>et</strong>ween Brazil and Germany and contributed to the<br />

enhancement of a intern<strong>et</strong> portal solution.<br />

– Quality Improvement of the Basic Education System, 2005–2008, Programme forthe Support to the<br />

Quality of Basic Education/ Programa de Apoyo a la Calidad Educativa (PACE) in Guatemala, carried<br />

out for the GTZ, The programme aims to achieve a b<strong>et</strong>ter response from the education sector to the<br />

necessities of a multicultural soci<strong>et</strong>y in its modernisation process.<br />

– Evaluation of the CI EQUAL for the period 2005 – 2008, Germany, carried out for the European Union:<br />

109 Development Partnerships with about 1700 projects are assessed concerning, among others, the<br />

inner coherency, the external relevance and the social-economic context, the operational context and<br />

the programme steerability.<br />

– Technical Assistance support for the Organisational Restructuring and Staff Development of the<br />

MEHE – MEHE Organisational Development., Lebanon, 2007-2008, carried out for the Worldbank.<br />

The goal of the assignment aims at addressing the Organisational Development component of the<br />

Educational Development Program (EDP). This includes two basic components: 1. Development of New<br />

Organisational Structure for MEHE and 2. Staff Development.<br />
