Leonardo da Vinci Project 2003–2006: Sign Languages and European Written Languages in Virtual<br />

Vocational Education for the Deaf. The project aims to develop language teaching (sign languages and<br />

written languages: Finnish, German, Greek) for the deaf in vocational training.<br />

There is the need to create curriculums and study material for teaching sign languages and European<br />

spoken and written languages also in Greece and the project will give the opportunity to try new<br />

m<strong>et</strong>hods (a web based teaching material bank will be created) to train both deaf students and teachers<br />

to use teaching materials.<br />

Leonardo da Vinci program 2003–2005: Integration of Minority Students Higher Education and<br />

Labour Mark<strong>et</strong>. The aim of this project is the integration of immigrants or minority students into higher<br />

education such as universities and university colleges. Within this wider aim there are three e main ideas<br />

employment relations. This pilot project aims to install in organisations, large and small, in the public<br />

sector and the private sector, a philosophy that equality applies to everybody.. The FOSTER project<br />

focuses on enterprise partnership with a particular emphasis on Broader Social Inclusion (BSI) in the<br />

SME sector across Europe. The m<strong>et</strong>hodological focus of this project will be to identify good and eff ective<br />

human resource strategies in Ireland, Spain, Greece, Poland and Romania and develop educational and<br />

training material. The primary objectives of the project are fi rstly, to identify the problems of access to<br />

employment in a range of categories.<br />

E-Learning Program 2003–2005: e-QUALITY: Virtual Spaces of democratic dialogue among<br />

cultures, about the Image.<br />

The general aim of the present project is to foster democratic participation and the use of the ICTs by<br />

people who have had fewer opportunities to access them, by means of training focused on critical<br />

reading of the mass media, including the images derived from these. We will work specifi cally with<br />

Intern<strong>et</strong>, because it is the most accessible way to work in the classrooms and because of the resources of<br />

the participating associations.<br />

Leonardo Da Vinci Program 2004–2007: DECAF: Development of training packages stemming<br />

social care organisations.<br />

No 2004 UK/04/B/F/PP-162_104 The objective of this project is to develop training packages to aid the<br />

assessment of comp<strong>et</strong>ence against a Comp<strong>et</strong>ence Assessment Framework (CAF) for non-qualifi ed basic<br />

grade staff working within clients in a health and social care s<strong>et</strong>ting. The result will be a new m<strong>et</strong>hodology<br />

of training for these groups, which traditionally lack educational skills.<br />

Leonardo da Vinci Program 2004–2007: European Intercultural Workplace, No 2004-2247 / 001 –<br />

001 LE2 22ACTH<br />

The European Intercultural Workplace project addresses intercultural issues arising in the workplace,<br />

focusing on the experience of 10 European countries, including accession states. Through situational<br />

analysis and case studies it investigates workplaces in various sectors in each participating country,<br />

compares the results across Europe, applies the comparative results in the partnership countries and<br />

makes them available beyond.<br />

Leonardo da Vinci Program 2004–2007: Interculturalite au Service de la Formation en enterprice<br />

JANUS, No F04-B/F/PP-151-151<br />

The aim of the project is to create, experiment and disseminate a s<strong>et</strong> of pedagogical tools including the<br />

knowledge, tools and m<strong>et</strong>hodologies necessary to take into account the intercultural dimension in the<br />

framework of technical training programmes proposed by and in companies which enter an European process.<br />

This s<strong>et</strong> should be used before actions of technical training programmes for and in these companies.<br />
