paleoclimatic events like sapropel crises (Giaccone et al., 1997). In order to
understand <strong>the</strong> phytogeographic characteristics <strong>of</strong> different areas, following a
specific investigation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> areals <strong>of</strong> every species, <strong>the</strong> chorological spectrum <strong>of</strong>
Ceramiales (Table 5 and Fig. 8), Fucophyceae (Table 6 and Fig. 9) and
