C. racemosa was found in 9 <strong>of</strong> 12 studied localities. Its spatial distribution indicated a
great heterogeneity <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir abundance along <strong>the</strong> coast (Fig. 4). ANOVA, performed in
spite <strong>of</strong> heterogenity <strong>of</strong> variance (p < 0.01), because <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> great number <strong>of</strong> freedom
degree (144 in <strong>the</strong> residual) (Benedetti-Cecchi, 2003), confirmed <strong>the</strong>se observations
(Table 2): significant differences were observed among sites within localities. No
differences were observed in relation to <strong>the</strong> disturbance conditions and depth but <strong>the</strong>
interaction between <strong>the</strong>se two factors showed significant differences, with highest
coverage in <strong>the</strong> controls at deep stands.
