Table 2: Ecological quality values calculated for <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> six geomorphological<br />

relevant situati<strong>on</strong>s in reference c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s<br />

The EQR <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> every sector <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> coast to be evaluated was calculated based <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> relati<strong>on</strong><br />

between <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> EQV obtained in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> study site and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> EQV in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> reference sites<br />

corresp<strong>on</strong>ding to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> same “geomorphological relevant situati<strong>on</strong>”. Therefore, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> EQR <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

a coast is calculated according to <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> following formula:<br />

where:<br />

Situati<strong>on</strong> Type <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> coast N/A EQV<br />

1 Decimetric blocks Artificial 12,06<br />

2 Low coast Artificial 11,86<br />

3 High coast Artificial 8,00<br />

4 Decimetric blocks Natural 12,20<br />

EQVssi: EQV in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> study site for <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> situati<strong>on</strong> i<br />

EQVrsi: EQV in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> reference sites for <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> situati<strong>on</strong> i<br />

The EQR is a value quoted from 1 to 0. We classify <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> range <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> values in 5 categories<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> disturbance and status (table 3) that are expressed in five different colors in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> maps:<br />

blue for high, green for good, orange for moderate, yellow for poor and red for bad<br />

ecological status<br />

different intervals <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Ecological quality ratio<br />
