PREAMBLE<br />
The Governments Party to this Agreement,<br />
I Came into force provisionally tin I October 1976 in respect of the following States aind organizations, the<br />
Secretary-General of the <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> having received by 30 September 1976 (f) instruments of ratification.<br />
acceptance and approval of. or notifications containing an undertaking to apply the Agreement provisionally and to<br />
seek ratification. acceptance or approval, from government% representing at lcast 2t1 exporting members and 11<br />
importing members( of the International Coffee Organization holding 80 per cent of the votes in their respective<br />
categories, its set out in annex 2 to the Agreement. in accordance with article 61 (2):<br />

(') The International Coffee Council dectded on 28 September 1976 at its twenty-ninth session, in accordance<br />
with articles 61) (2) and 61 (2) of the Agreement:<br />
I. to extend it) 31 March 1977 the time limit etablished in article 60 (2) of the Agreement for the deposit of<br />
instruments of ratification. acceptance or approval (resolution No. 289):<br />
2. to extend from 31 I)ecember 1976 It) 30 September 1977 the time limit estabhlihed in article 61 (2) of the<br />
Agreement within which any Government which is applying the Agreement provisionally may deposit its<br />
instrumcent of ratification. acceptance or approval (resolution No. 29)).<br />
