4.2 COMPONENT DEGRADATION MEASUREMENT Another application of the bench is to test specific component such as filters, LNB, TWTA, etc. As example, the figure shows the performance and degradation due to specific payload filtering. In this example, the filter used doesn't introduce significant degradation and it could be possible to relax its specifications (in line with the link budget losses associated with this filter). As the input/output of each rack is standardised, it is very easy to integrate and test commercial equipment as well as breadboards or engineering models. 5 CONCLUSION 1,00E-02 1,00E-03 1,00E-04 1,00E-05 1,00E-06 1,00E-07 1,00E-08 1,00E-09 1,00E-10 Simulation SPW 3,2 3,3 3,4 3,5 3,6 3,7 3,8 3,9 4 4,1 Within the framework of ATF project, CNES is developing a bench called BST to study transmission satellite systems as well as degradation due to specific element of the transmission chain. BACK Robust control of a high speed test bench for mechanical structures Valérie POMMIER-BUDINGER ‡ , Xavier Carbonneau ‡ , Jean-Luc LATAILLADE* and Alain OUSTALOUP † ‡ ENSICA - 1, Place Blouin, 31056 Toulouse - France fax: +33 (0)561 618 686 e-mail: valerie.pommier@ensica.fr LAMEFIP – ENSAM – Esplanade des Arts et Métiers, 33405 Talence - France † LAP – Université de Bordeaux I, 351 cours de la Libération, 33405 Talence - France Abstract This paper presents a high speed test bench in project and the control system design that permits to use as well as possible this test device. The test bench is made of a hydraulic actuator whose cylinder is linked to a mechanical structure to be tested. The tested structure is to be compressed by the actuator whose cylinder position is controlled and follows a given trajectory. The control system must take into account the fact that the parameters of the tested structure are not well-known and change during the test. This paper also presents the different test devices available in two laboratories at ENSICA and ENSAM Introduction Tests are often to be achieved under specifications such as velocity, force or temperature. In order to guaranty these specifications, control system design is a precious tool. Control system design requires modelling all the devices: the test machine, the sensors and the tested structure. This is not so easy concerning the tested structure. ETTC2003 European Test and Telemetry Conference
