L’émission et la réception des champs sont assurées par un analyseur vectoriel. Ils sont relevés selon les deux composantes linéaires croisées E et E souvent appelées, par commodité, respectivement polarisation verticale et polarisation horizontale. Les valeurs des champs proches sont ensuite traitées par un logiciel de transformation afin de restituer le champ lointain sur toute la sphère de rayonnement. L’accès au pylône est effectué par l’intermédiaire d’une plate-forme en porte-à-faux se déployant sans contact avec les éléments de la chambre anéchoïde. Ce type d’accès préserve la stabilité des performances de la base en évitant, entre autres, la manipulation ou la déformation ou l’écrasement des matériaux absorbants. Chaque séquence de mesure est précédée d’une séquence d’étalonnage et d’une séquence de vérification consistant à s’assurer de la qualité des mesures.
