112 <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> - <strong>Treaty</strong> <strong>Series</strong> 1967<br />

(d) All recurrent expenditures,<br />

(e) Adequate living accommodations for the Norwegian personnel,<br />

or housing allowances as agreed upon for this personnel.<br />

2. The Government of Norway shall provide:<br />

(a) Norwegian personnel,<br />

(b) Equipment, machinery and other items not available in India.<br />

(c) Credits for procurement of machinery, equipment, spareparts and<br />

other items for vessels and shore installations for furthering the development<br />

of the Indian fishing industry, in accordance with the conditions to be laid<br />

down in a separate Agreement between the two Governments.<br />

3. The total Norwegian contribution, including credits, shall not exceed<br />

N.Kr.40,000,000. - (Forty Million Norwegian Kroner).<br />

4. Items purchased by NORAD under this Agreement and brought to India<br />

shall, unless otherwise agreed upon, become the property of the Government<br />

of India. The technical advice of the Norwegian Director shall be obtained<br />

for the maintenance and utilisation of these items.<br />

5. Income from sales of products and services from the Project shall be<br />

accounted for separately in a way as to provide for the assessment of the<br />

economic viability of the various production units.<br />

6. The <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> shall provide, at the request of the Government<br />

of India and the Government of Norway, and in accordance with its established<br />

principles, such assistance as may be appropriate under its governing<br />

resolutions and as the rules and regulations of the <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> and its<br />

affiliated agencies may permit.<br />

Article IV<br />

RIGHTS AND EXEMPTIONS<br />

Tax and duty privileges for the Project and the status of Norwegian<br />

personnel are defined in Annex III to this Agreement.<br />

Article V<br />

DURATION AND ENTRY INTO FORCE<br />

This Agreement shall take effect from the 1st of April, 1967 and remain<br />

so until the 31st of March, 1972.<br />
