I am directed by the Prime Minister to refer to your letter SF 332
Barbados of 20th December 1966, and to inform you that until such time
as an Agreement between the Government of Barbados and the UNDP
(Special Fund) relating to assistance from the latter is signed and comes into
force, the Government of Barbados accepts the provisions of the Agreement
between the United Kingdom and the United Nations Special Fund which
governed the Special Fund operations in Barbados before independence,
and that the Government considers itself to be the successor to the United
Kingdom Government with respect to Barbados under that Agreement.
2. Accordingly, for all Plans of Operation relating to UNDP (Special
Fund) projects currently in operation in Barbados, the Government will
apply the provisions of the Agreement referred to above and will likewise
apply them to the Plans of Operation for projects which may be approved
in the future.
