I am directed by the Prime Minister to refer to your letter SF 332<br />

Barbados of 20th December 1966, and to inform you that until such time<br />

as an Agreement between the Government of Barbados and the UNDP<br />

(Special Fund) relating to assistance from the latter is signed and comes into<br />

force, the Government of Barbados accepts the provisions of the Agreement<br />

between the <strong>United</strong> Kingdom and the <strong>United</strong> <strong>Nations</strong> Special Fund which<br />

governed the Special Fund operations in Barbados before independence,<br />

and that the Government considers itself to be the successor to the <strong>United</strong><br />

Kingdom Government with respect to Barbados under that Agreement.<br />

2. Accordingly, for all Plans of Operation relating to UNDP (Special<br />

Fund) projects currently in operation in Barbados, the Government will<br />

apply the provisions of the Agreement referred to above and will likewise<br />

apply them to the Plans of Operation for projects which may be approved<br />

in the future.<br />
