I cannot omit expressing the Sense I have of yo r great Civilities, and of the Hono r
of yo r Conversation at Hannover. I hope D r Gee has made his acknowledgments to you
for the Present you were pleased to address to him by my hands. I should be very proud
of Receiving your Commands if in any thing I could be serviceable to you here.
10 There were some things which I could not get dispatcht before my departure from
Hannover, which I was fain to give a memorial of to M r Hakman, to whom I have now
written about them, as also to M r Wynd. If you would please to give them a furtherance
(as you have opportunity) with the proper Ministers of the Court, it would highly oblige
S r Yo r most intirely devoted humble Servant Gre ry King.

Der nächste Brief der erhaltenen Korrespondenz (Leibniz an King) datiert vom 12. Mai 1702 (Druck in
I, 21). 7 Conversation at Hannover: G. King hatte als Wappenherold am 3. September 1701 zusammen
mit Lord Macclesfield Kurfürst Georg Ludwig den Hosenbandorden überbracht und bei diesem Aufenthalt
in Hannover Leibniz wohl gesprochen; vgl. Schnath, Geschichte, 4, 1982, S. 42 f. 8 Present:
offenbar als Antwort auf N. 225; worum es sich bei diesem Geschenk handelte, wurde nicht ermittelt.
