soe thet M r Imhoff as treasurer was obliged to attend daily and I had but little of his
company, but that little that I had of it convinced me that he is a very learned man.
Hannover and Berlin have left such impressions upon me, that I cant relish fine
buildings without good inhabitants, and ’tis that, that makes me prefer the Electrices
Apartment at Herrenhausen to that they call the Emperours, at Munick; and the little 5
hall at Lusenbourg to the famous one at Ausbourg. In short, I dont beleive I shall like
my native England, unlesse I find a court from Hannover there. I am just now going to
pay a visit to the Abbè Stephani, who seems to be a man of letters, and is, like every
body employed by his Master, very well bred.
To morrow or next day I shall set out for Vienna, where the greatest satisfaction I 10
propose to my self, is to meet a letter from you. I am 〈...〉
If my Lady Bellamont be angry with me, pray make us Friends. My humble service

E. Excell. haben nun etliche Jahre hero so viele Gnade vor mich gehabt: daß ich
für vielen andern ursache finde, mich über die von S r Konig. Maiest. an Ew. Excell. 20
Allergdg st übertragene direction unterthanig zuerfreuen. Es werden alle Liebhaber der
Wißenschafften Gott und Ihrem König danken; daß Ew. Excell. Selbigen zum Schuz und
haupt gesezet unter dero mächtigen vorschub fleiß und Arbeit befördert und unterhalten
