Changing exhibition<br />
4.1.–31.12. MIKKELI PARISH CHURCH 200 YEARS<br />
The church of Mikkeli Rural Parish is one of the largest<br />
wooden churches in Finland. This exhibition presents the<br />
history of the construction of the church, as well as some<br />
ecclesiastical objects. The double cruciform church was<br />
inaugurated in 1817 in accordance with the designs by<br />
master builder Matti Salonen and approved by the Board<br />
of Public Construction.<br />

The flour mill with two pairs of millstones was in active<br />
use until 1975 and it is still in working condition. A miller’s<br />
cottage, barns and a smoke sauna in the mill yard.<br />
