A few records are still under considerationand will be published in the next reports.Records of birds in other categories than A andrejected records are listed separately. The detailsincluded for each record are: date and locality,number of birds if more than one, other detailsif known (kv=calendar year, jp=adult breedingplumage, tp=winter plumage, vp=transientplumage, n-puk.=female plumage, pyydystetty,rengastettu=trapped,ringed, videoitu =videoed,v=photographed, äänite = sound recorded (andthis evidence seen or heard by the committee; ofrecords submitted in <strong>2006</strong>, 52 % were supportedwith such “hard evidence”), W (=west) etc. refersto migrating birds and their direction. The threenumbers in brackets after each species´ namegive the total number of individuals observed inFinland (1) before 1975, (2) in the period 1975-2005 and (3) in <strong>2006</strong> respectively. They are followedby the total number and then five numbersin brackets which give the numbers during theyears 2001 – 2005.In <strong>2006</strong>, one new species (Grey-neckedBunting Emberiza buchanani) and one new subspecies(Black-tailed Godwit Limosa limosa islandica)were added to category A of the Finnishlist. Ross’s Goose (Anser rossii) and a race ofCanada Goose (Branta canadensis minima) wereadded to category E. Lesser Yellowlegs (Tringaflavipes) was recorded for the second time. Otheraccepted species with ten or less earlier recordswere Ring-necked Duck (Aythya collaris), CattleEgret (Bubulcus ibis), Eastern Imperial Eagle (Aquilaheliaca), Sabine’s Gull (Larus sabini), Ross’sGull (Rhodostethia rosea), Oriental Turtle Dove(Streptopelia orientalis, with three records in<strong>2006</strong>), Barn Owl (Tyto alba), Dusky Thrush (Turdusnaumanni eunomus), Western Bonelli’s Warbler(Phylloscopus bonelli), Steppe Great GreyShrike (Lanius meridionalis pallidirostris) and PineBunting (Emberiza leucocephala). Black Scoter(Melanitta nigra americana) was recorded for thesecond time.The year <strong>2006</strong> was good for Lesser SpottedEagle, Great Skua, White-winged Black Tern,Oriental Turtle Dove, Western Stonechat, Savi’sWarbler and Collared Flycatcher. On the otherhand, it was a poor year for Great Northern Diver,Short-toed Lark and Lanceolated Warbler.LINNUT VUOSIKIRJA <strong>2006</strong>91
