Tenants Meeting,<br />
Friday January 20th, 2012 – 3 pm.<br />

1. Juha welcomed everyone <strong>to</strong> the January Tenants’ Meeting.<br />
2. Juha mentioned that we haven’t had a tenants’ meeting for a while. He thanked everyone<br />
who had helped during the busy Christmas season.<br />
3. Juha said that there are always good and bad news. One of bad ones is that Miia Erme won’t<br />
be back from her maternity leave because of her family matters. He also mentioned that the<br />
future of EPC depends from the government funding. We will know the situation later.<br />
4. Juha mentioned that tenants have pet food on their balconies for squirrels etc. Also people<br />
use their balconies for furniture s<strong>to</strong>rage, but their rental agreements don’t allow this type of<br />
activity for safety reasons for instance a fire.<br />
5. Juha mentioned that <strong>Koti</strong>-Posti newsletter costs now $2.00 for outsiders. This helps cover<br />
the costs. For <strong>Suomi</strong>-<strong>Koti</strong> tenants and residents it still doesn’t cost anything. You can get it<br />
also from the Internet for free.<br />
6. Juha mentioned the good news. 803 Eglin<strong>to</strong>n Ave. East property belongs now <strong>to</strong> <strong>Suomi</strong>-<strong>Koti</strong>.<br />
The deal was closed on Jan. 6 th . This was celebrated by everyone who attended the meeting<br />
with cake and coffee.<br />
7. Juha answered some questions from the tenants. First question was about building starting<br />
time of 803 Eglin<strong>to</strong>n Ave. East. Nursing Home portion depends on the government funding.<br />
This will be known in April. Also, somebody wanted <strong>to</strong> know, if all units were rented in both<br />
of buildings, 801 and 803 Eglin<strong>to</strong>n Ave. East. Juha replied that each building has 5 units and<br />
they are rented.<br />
8. Sirpa mentioned the regular EPC programs and also the upcoming special events. She also<br />
reminded the present and new tenants that we usually give a $3.00 donation at the birthday<br />
parties <strong>to</strong> cover some of the expenses.<br />
9. The meeting ended with coffee, cake and lively discussion.<br />
