SUMMARY
The present work shows a form to govern the different involved independent
systems in a spectacle from a central unit; Illumination, sound, scenic machinery,
projection and pyrotechnics among others. This system of systems is known as
Show Control.
In chapter 2 appears a bibliographical synthesis where we can find the concepts
related to show control, the show controller devices, the controlled systems and
devices of the show, its communication protocols, the ways of synchronization, the
main Show Control Systems that the market offers and three examples of Show
Control System applications.
Chapter 3 shows the development of the application of a basic Show Control
System where three independent systems were governed from a PC; lighting, an
audio track, and digital projection of photographies.
The result was a perfect synchronization of the audio track, the passage of
photographies and the changes of illumination scenes, identically repeated through
time. This experience can be watched on a video recorded in the CD attached to
the present thesis.
Finally, among other things, we can conclude that the Show Control Systems:
• Offer staff-saving and maintenance of the system.
• Offer higher show efficiency and sophistication.
• Require a designer and a specialized system operator.
• Present an initial high cost of hardware and software.
• Require an extended length of time on programming and designing.
