Instructions for use and features
• the use of milk in preparing cappuccino
requires greater attention in cleaning and
washing operations. As everybody knows, when
it dries, milk can leave deposits that can begin to
smell bad, are unhygienic and are hard to remove. It
is therefore necessary to use hot water for washing
the upper part and, more specifically, the S.A.F.E
valve (Fig. 15) IMMEDIATELY AFTER MAKING A
CAPPUCCINO. If it is not washed shortly after use, it
will be necessary to clean the S.A.F.E. valve with more
attention, as follows:
• in a pan, prepare a solution consisting of a glass of
water and a teaspoon of washing-up liquid;
• put the S.A.F.E. valve In the solution and boil it for a
few minutes (5 - 6);
• let it cool, then rinse in plenty of running water.
This will not only assure that it functions properly but also
that it is kept hygienically clean.
• Should you expect not to use the cappuccino-maker
for a long time, it is recommended not to put the
S.A.F.E valve system back in its housing, but leave it
on the bottom of the container (Fig. 15).
• It is recommended to wash the product immediately
after use in order to avoid milk residues from drying.
• It is recommended to periodically clean the filter (g)
and the gasket (h) with a kitchen brush in order to
avoid clogging caused by coffee grains (about every
30 uses).
• After not using the cappuccino-maker for a long time,
throw away the first preparation you make. For this
preparation, use water instead of milk and half the
quantity of coffee.
• Now and then (every 30 cycles) push the pivot coming
out from the safety valve (l), situated on the boiler, to
remove scale (Fig. 16).
