WINDHUND FESTIVAL DONAUESCHINGEN 2017
The judging completed I had chance to visit the
wonderful trade stands, the atmosphere was
such a relaxed Sighthound Bazaar with lots of
fabulous goodies. The judges’ favourite phrase
all weekend ‘Oh just going shopping!!’ but this
all added to the wonderful feel of the show.
All too soon it was time to start the finals.
Another feast of wonderful finalists paraded
for all the different awards, no-one could not
have been moved by the breathtaking display
in the breeders final. This was raised to another
level by the presentation made to the Sobers
kennel for their amazing achievements and
celebrating their 60 years, the tribute made
by fellow, Espen Engh, caused a few tissues to
appear and the sunglasses lowered !! But what
a celebration by presenting such a collection of
stunning Greyhounds. My personal congratulations
for this amazing achievement.
The end of the show came all too soon with the
Supreme BIS going to the Pharaoh Hound.
My immense Congratulations to Olaf and all his
team for organising this wonderful show, the
hard work that goes into putting on such an
event is immense, you all should be very proud
that you have the most successful, prestigious
Sighthound Festival

Haben sich vor 37 Jahren
der Aufgabe verschrieben,
die Windhunde der Tamaschek-Nomaden
auch außerhalb
der Ursprungsregion in
ihrer originären Erscheinung
und mit den gefestigten Verhaltensweisen
des Gebrauchshundes
zu erhalten. Gut zwanzig Expeditionen
nach Mali, Niger und Burkina
Faso mit zahlreichen Nachwuchsimporten
waren der Schaffung einer
genetisch gesunden Zuchtbasis in
Europa und Amerika gewidmet.
