La inequidad social se materializa muy
claramente en los entornos físicos y tangibles,
donde es altamente visible a través
de cambios espaciales, sociales y culturales,
sin embargo, la presencia de este fenómeno
no es tan evidente en los consolidados
y emergentes espacios virtuales.
Es posible afirmar que los espacios virtuales
son grandes generadores de segregación;
en gran medida por el aparente
enfoque abierto y publico de dichos espacios,
pero que, en realidad, no son más
que lugares virtuales restringidos, donde
la presencia de impedimentos económicos
en las comunidades marginadas y la
falta de infraestructuras necesarias para
acceder a ellos, terminan favoreciendo la
aparición de estos enclaves digitales privativos,
como si esto no fuera suficiente,
las diferentes brechas sociales, la segregación
físico-espacial y cultural de los diferentes
grupos generacionales, generan
un desconocimiento de los medios y de
los elementos virtuales existentes, y por
lo tanto, una desconexión de las redes de
intercambio de información.
Estas poblaciones marginadas, muchas
veces segregadas físicamente, dispersas
y fragmentadas en enclaves urbanos, no
solamente no tienen acceso a estas tecnologías
por sus condiciones económicas,
si no por un abandono político, las
propuestas ineficaces de “Innovación tecnológica”
parecen ser orientadas hacia
las personas cuyas condiciones de vida
no necesitan un mejoramiento especifico.
Esta poca participación en las nuevas
realidades espaciales, termina propiciando
una reducción en nuevas conexiones
para el intercambio de información, favoreciendo
así un aislamiento con respecto
al resto de poblaciones, y unas condiciones
ideales para la consolidación de estas
dinámicas.
Social inequity materializes very clearly
in physical and tangible environments,
where it is highly visible through spatial,
social and cultural changes, however, the
presence of this phenomenon is not so
evident in the consolidated and emerging
virtual spaces.
It is possible to affirm that virtual spaces
are great generators of segregation; to a
large extent due to the apparent open and
public focus of these spaces, but which,
in reality, are nothing more than restricted
virtual places, where the presence of
economic impediments in marginalised
communities and the lack of necessary
infrastructures to access them, end up favouring
the appearance of these privative
digital enclaves, as if this were not enough,
the different social gaps, the physical-spatial
and cultural segregation of the
different generational groups, generate a
lack of knowledge of the existing media
and virtual elements, and therefore a disconnection
of the information exchange
networks.
These marginalized populations, often
physically segregated, dispersed and
fragmented in urban enclaves, not only
do not have access to these technologies
by their economic conditions, if not by
a political abandonment, the ineffective
proposals of “technological innovation”
seem to be oriented towards people whose
living conditions do not need a specific
improvement. This lack of participation in
the new spatial realities ends up leading
to a reduction in new connections for the
exchange of information, thus favouring
isolation from the rest of the population,
and ideal conditions for the consolidation
of these dynamics.
