The purpose of this article is to reflect on the

experience of Designing a graphic communication

strategy for the promotion of the

urban genre in the city of Santa Marta.

Artists are the product that is sold by record

companies, their brand, their image, their

personality, all this is done with different

tools in the field of marketing and communication

in order to to configure an image in

the minds of their audiences.

Based on this, the present investigation was

drawn up where the main objective is to

analyze how graphic design helps in the

promotion of artists of the urban genre

through the illustration of the covers of the

cd's, all this based on sources analyzed as

books, magazines, articles and scientific

research, all this under the quantitative and

qualitative methodology. According to the

results obtained in the city of Santa Marta,

there is no company or designer dedicated

to this market, thus identifying the need to

create a company dedicated to providing

this service.
